Not sure if we are robbing peter for Paul but why can't we try Rivers out at CHF. It is obvious that Miller can take a mark and play this position but he doesn't kill them on the scoreboard. Rivers is a strong mark and a good kick?

It is time we brought in Maric to our forward line, Martin and Frawley into defence.

I'd rather be cained knowing we are developing a side that ight just get us excited as the youngsters build confidence.

I know everyone thinks we need Carroll but will he seriously be there next year?

IMO we need Rivers down back. I also think we need to at least give Frawley a run down there as well.

I agree that we need Maric in the side but our impotence in our forward line is largely due to our skill errors when we deliver into the forward line - those skills will improve over time as the team adapts to the faster flowing game plan.

Yeah rivers down back at the moment. Our poor decision making and foot skills are really killing us atm.

Too valueable down back, better option would be to drop Robbo to Sandy, Juice to FF, Neita to FB and Jeff White to CHF

Really? Neita to FB? Interesting. I know he used to be a quality CHB but still, that's a bit peculiar.

We need Rivers in the backline, up forward pinch hitting a la Hunter could be a possibility, but definitely down back is the way to go.

I'm all for Martin, Frawley and Maric coming into the team

Well i spose i got ahead of myself with Neita to FB, but definatley we need Jeff White to play CHF

Yeah. But we are getting killed up forward and the lack of scoring is really placing pressure on our defence. I reckon a kid like frawley could come in and really take on the chb position.

Martin and MCNamarra showed quite a bit in the NAB cup against Geelong.

Backline.

I'm hoping that Bate, Newton and Dunn can hold up the forward line in the future, and possibly Miller and Johnson (both need big years).

Rivers is a genius down back, and we need him to help develop the likes of Frawley, Martin and McNamara.

Miller can play good footy at CHF when delivery is good, he will never be a big goal kicker but can be a great link player when coming out of defence. the way he plays up the ground as a leading target may suffer under the new run and carry game plan.

p.Johnson when fit could be a good option he is strong on the lead a nice kick (when not under pressure) and always competes.

Rivers is our most important player and we need him in the backline. Get marric to play one out in the goal square he can be a good small fwd like robbo has been over the years.

Rivers may be ok up forward, I have no idea tbh but at the moment we are struggling to find the right players for positions. Rivers is an established proven defender so why move him? He is one of the few players we can say belongs in a certain position and is still young enough to play there for many more years. Now is not the time to play around with our team line up when there are many many more pressing problems to address.

The coach needs as many puzzle pieces set by the end of this year as possible and moving proven players to untried positions is just making the whole thing a dogs breakfast. We need stability so that we can focus on the players that we are less sure about. Most moves that are made purely in an effort to stem the problem we have of getting belted will not hold us in good stead for the future. In any case why risk a CHF that may not deliver when we have a proven defender already?
