Rnd 3 Changes vs GWS

it was only 2 weeks ago,and the 1st game of the season, where the team looked rusty and in need of match fitness..seems counterproductive to be resting players now with Hawthorn next week..

admittedly its potentially a huge walkover, and in Blacktown..

re not playing key players in GWS match because they might get injured - thats funny!...applies to every match of the season..especially dont play them against cats, pies or hawks-good chance of injury!!? (but i do understand the warped logic) :D ..besides,we got depth.

agree with any senior early niggles..need match fitness, wait till the bye.

mccginnity,newman,swift

Did Sydney or North rest half their side? I think we know the answer to that.
Why not take the percentage if it falls that way? If the ladder is anything like 2011, then it will be handy.
Sure as sh*t the rest of the clubs will be using their date with GWS for the exact same result.

I'm all for giving Newman a run. The GWS are not a battle-hardened team and it would be an ideal introduction for him. And we need another rotation with Embly out. Besides, I want to see Murray's freaky skills! :)

Yeah I say take no prisoners, lets put GWS to the sword. These opportunities don't come around too often. We are marching into the West Sydney Colosseum with a fully armed and loaded Roman Cavalry. Waiting for us will be a bunch of half-trained boys with no place to run.

Yep. Imagine resting a few important players this game then missing out on the top 4 by half a % or something.

Crush the bastards.

Dropping, sorry, "resting" half the side is insulting to GWS and flirting with form is dangerous with big games coming up.

We should treat the game like a NAB Cup match - with the exception that the result is important. Send a near full strength squad (we'll be without Embley at least), get the job done in the first half then push the in-game responsibility onto the bottom half of the 22. There's no harm in Glass, Cox, Kennedy etc. playing 50-60% game time.

Gaff, Hill, A Selwood, Smith, Hams, Masten... come on down!

I guess you guys need to ask the question would you be more angry if you lost to GWS or won by 100 points but lost one of or many of Cox,Kerr, Glass, A.Selwood, Waters to long term injuries?

You guys have great depth. I can tell you right now K.Stevens aint going to waite around for half the team to break a leg so he can get a game. Lycett also another SA isnt going to sit around. Newman was close to BOG and has showed great form at WAFL league level, play him he could actually add something to the side with Lecras and Nicoski out. Swift is another deserving of a game as is Brennan.

Kerr - Stevens
Cox - Lycett
Glass - Brennan
A.Selwood - Butler
Embley - Newman
Waters - Swift

You guys dont play another woeful team for some time until the bye in which you will be able to rest players. Maybe if you play Cox play him as the sub. I honestly cant see Kerr, Glass, A.Selwood, Embley (now) traveling and i dare say you will challenge the Waters hit.

Just an outsiders POV being from perth.

I lot of truth in this mate, maybe the only change I'd do is play Stevenson instead of Swift. I'd also like to see McGinnity squeezed in somewhere but it's not easy. Maybe if Rosa's cork needs rest play either McGinnity or Sheppard for him.

OMG we forgot about Dalziel

I reckon he'll be named an emergency at least. Wouldn't be much use as a sub since his strength is endurance running, not being a clutch impact player (as demonstrated when they played him as a sub last year.)
If he was selected and ran hard for the whole game, maybe snag a couple of running goals, I wouldn't be disappointed.

Can't believe how many promising small forwards we have at the moment. Newman and Neates must be pretty close to getting green vests.

But I think the most likely person to come in for Embley is Butler. Experience for experience.

If one of our inside mids is rested, Swift's inclusion would be automatic.

Out: Kerr (soreness), Embley (shoulder), Smith (omit.)

In: Swift, Dalziell, Brennan

Brennan. Emac and Schoey will be able to handle the talls for GWS who are .... um.... ah.... their forward line is actually shit.

WIll be one of the rotating ruckmen in Giles or Brogan this week, plus...

ummmm Folau maybe

I like the idea of bringing in Brown staight in for Glass, but like the harry, I just don't he's needed.

Waters - Mackenzie - A. Smith
Wilson - Cameron - D. Smith

Hurn - Schofield - A. Selwood
Hampton - Falou - Coniglio
