Dont get the Conca hate...thought he was more than serviceable today...broke the lines
In the last...stood up in moments

Won't get dropped

I don't hate him at all, I think he can play, but he either is doing something great or doing something dumb. I think he needs more consistency. Again this is just my opinion and neither right nor wrong, just how I see it.

I feel like we'll drop the Eagles game. Dunno why, but yeah.

Out - Higgins
In - Prestia

Probably because we have the biggest free kick differential in the comp (by miles) and we are going to a place where they traditionally get a great run with the 50/50 calls. We are also due for a loss.

One more out for me: Whichever boots Butler was wearing today.... he slipped over so often.... cost us goals and momentum. That and Conca thinking that turning into traffic all the time is going to make life easier for him or his teammates.

My eldest turned 16 today & with Mothers Day have been out and about as compensation for my inability to supply anything but the shittiest token presents.
They dropped me at the pub to watch the game at quarter time (and declined my offer of joining me for family togetherness).
I then played catch-up to get to my usual stage of comfortable drunkenness well before 3/4 time....
Cotch, Caddy, Vlastuin my stand-outs. Also gave a vote to Nank as single-handedly holding down the ruck & taking 3 quarters to realise Goldstein was even playing. Apologies to Lambert & others, but my final vote went to Astbury by default as he deserves a ****load more love than he gets. So importsnt & under-rated.
Changes for next week;
Prestia (if fit) IN - for Dusty (rested as he looks like he needs it)
Grigg (if ready?) - for Lloyd (don't mind if Lloyd stays & Grigg has a run at VFL)
Higgins OUT for a rest - for Dusty (he can have his rest in the forward pocket full-time for a week.) or for Bolton if Prestia(hence Dusty) not ready.
Butler OUT - for Stengle ( or Chol )

Other wise:
Soldo if Nank rested,
Garth if Rance/Astbury rested,
BEllis if Short/Vlastuin/KMac rested,
Maybe Miles in if Prestia not ready to return.

Butts is like a super fast accelersting car...does wheel spins and burn outs with his boots...surface at ShittyHead is crap...

Did what good teams do, stood up when challenged and secured the 4 points. Not our best performance of the season but you can't always win pretty sometimes you just need to grind out a win and bank the 4 points. What was pleasing was that even though Dusty was well held the midfield unit didn't really miss a beat. Lambert Caddy Graham Lloyd & Conca all helped fill the void, while Cotchin showed what real leaders do when their team needs them to step up. Whenever Cotchin was near a contest the worst result was only ever going to be a stoppage. Caddy and Lambert between them had 42 disposals 7 clearances 5 tackles and 7 goals, while Conca and Lloyd combined for 45 disposals 10 marks 10 tackles and 7 clearances. Once again our flexibility comes to the fore.

Down back, my god what a defensive unit. Rance obliterated Brown whose 4 shots on goal were lucky. Vlastuin is quickly becoming our version of Luke Hodge(better be careful comparing our players to guns), hard as a cats head in the contest and gives you so much confidence when he gets possession of the ball that something good is going to happen. Short is going nowhere now that he is established in the 22, Grimes Broad & Astbury are so dependable and Houli should be an AA HBF this year if his form continues.

Up forward the same concern continues to come up. The continual need to give the extra handball when in a goal kicking position is going to hurt us one day and it definitely cost us one goal today that would have seen us go in at half time with a 26 point lead instead of 20 points which probably robs the Roos of a little belief. Don't get me wrong I love the unselfishness in sharing the ball around, but just kick the goal especially when you're at the top of the square.

Next weeks changes.
Out: Higgins Butler
In: Stengle Prestia

B: Grimes Astbury Rance
HB Houli Broad Vlastuin
C: Lloyd Martin McIntosh
HF: Castagna Townsend Edwards
F: Riewoldt Caddy Stengle
R: Nankervis Cotchin Prestia
INT: Lambert Conca Short Graham
No way we will take Prestia to Perth. Not with his history and the grounds short history.

Garth was in a sling post game as the boys walked into the rooms.
