Worst game I have ever seen by a Port player in the AFL today.

Congratualations.

Easily beaten by a pretty average AFL player.

Sad thing is that more disappointing than his game was his effort. It's okay to be beaten but completely refusing and pouting like a child when you are beaten like that because of it, sad.

Come on guys were you at the game? He battled a defence that was super organised (and tall) + the way the ball was coming in gave him no hope - not his best game but not the reason we lost.

Offered nothing defensively, battled hard when he was in the centre despite looking injured.

Wasn't great, but hardly roast worthy. Especially for a player with no back or head.

Oh piss off - he was COMPLETELY inneffectual - simply not good enough for a player of his ability, and no amount of rationalizing or excuses will change that.

why are we playing a guy who was the best player in the game just 2 and a half years ago, in the forward line instead of the middle where he plays his best footy?

is he injured? then why aren't we letting him recover?

or has good bloke burgo and his insane pre-seasons totally cooked robbie and trav's groins? i've never seen 2 guys who were dominating drop off so quickly while still in their mid 20s.

(a) It's been repeatedly stated he is NOT injured
(b) If he is, then the blame is 100% on Hinkley - but god damn it, SOMEONE is taking the blame for that sub-AUSkick-standard performance.

Moved like an old man tonight. Absolutely playing injured. Which, yes, is disgraceful.

He has a groin injury and that won't improve by playing football every week.

He'll still kick 50 goals and win some important clearances. We're just gonna have to take the good with the bad this year.

It would help if our coaches gave him more time as an inside mid and didn't leave him up forward all game for the opposition running defenders to exploit, but we're not smart enough for that sort of stuff.

Plays like someone who is carrying an injury. Give him a rest.

A break against the Suns will give him the best part of 3 weeks off

He's clearly injured. I think the different clues from the club would indicate he has a chronic groin injury.

This would also be effecting his goal kicking (just to point this out, given he's been criticised for that a fair bit this year).

The big question is whether or not there is any value in resting him, or if this is something that needs to be managed week to week. Seems like we think the latter.

This doesn't excuse his effort, nor his intent in his down games, but it does explain why we're playing him the way we are this year.
