Robbo or Green?

Okay, so, there has been some talk recently of trade bait, and both these boys have been mentioned extensively.

My question to you is, which player would you prefer to have at Melbourne next year if a trade had to occur? Would you prefer to have Robbo or Greeny?

Brad Green looks to be slightly better than Russell Robertson when we talk about a possible midfield role. So for that reason I vote for Robbo to go and Green to stay.

One or both should at least be offered during trade week, and if the players who are offered to us are of our liking, one or both should be traded. In other words I believe both could be trade bait, along with the likes of Chell and Woey.

Whether the club takes some risks during trading this year is yet to be seen, but I sure hope so!

I don't think they will trade Woey. They put all this effort into keeping him, they would be hesitant to let him go.
You have to give quality to get quality, if we offer Robbo, Green etc. Then a club like lets say Essendon, says they are only interested in Woey, and that they will give us Lucas and someone else (for arguments sake, Jacobs) for him, we'd be crazy not to take it!

I agree, but in that year we had both Woey and Farmer to sign. I believe we wasted too much money and Woey and couldn't offer enough incentive for the Wiz to stay.

I would have a problem I think if we traded Green, and I'm not sure why. The guy really does have talent to burn, it's just a matter of us finding a way to utilize it best. I think he needs to train hard and be put in the midfield next year, rather than in a pocket.

Why would we want Jacobs?

It was for arguments sake mate.

And heck, on his form this year, I'd take Jacobs in a heartbeat!

I agree. We probably placed too much pressure on him. I think in the next year or so he will show his worth. He has midfield potential as his passing is very accurate. I would also still rate him a better shot for goal than Neitz.

i was pretty shattered that the wiz left, but it was for his family.

Yes it was, but Freo also offered quite a bit of money for him to go over there. Had we matched that, my feeling is we would still have Mr. Farmer in our side.

We spent to much on Shane "I only get my possies in the back pocket" Woewodin! (don't take offence Mish! :D :D)

its alll in the money!

Unfortunately, that is the case on most occasions. If I had the chance, I'd play for Melbourne for whatver they gave me.....but, that's just me... :D ;)

Yeah we really want to trade a 21-year-old for a 30-year-old-hack

Tyson I see your from the US? Err..
Do you go for the Dees? It's just that I've seen you on a number of boards as well. You are entitled to your own opinion, but if I think it’s way off the mark I’ll let you know, and a Green for Peckett swap IS was off the mark.

Justin however you spell his last name. Asking for Riewoldt might be too much, but we can throw Robertson into the mix as well if you gave us Riewoldt.

Firstly, I reckon we should be holding onto Green. His ground skills don't look the best at the moment and he might not look like a midfielder yet, but he's still young and the next 2-3 years will be his time. Saying that, he's not an untouchable. If the right offer presented itself, we would definently consider it. At StKilda I'd probably take a Lenny Hayes or Xavier Clarke trade.

On Robbo, play him up the ground more. Maybe even try him in defence for a game. He could suprise.
