Very interesting. Thanks for that. I like the way Shaw talks, he's very honest and open and I always feel like he tells it like it is without any spin.

I think it was thomas.. the guy that was going on about Bell is a cretin - talking about how we need "game breaking" midfielders in the midfield... like as if we have someone sitting on the sidelines who could take bell's spot and do it better.

Thomas what a stupid comment about Bell. If the Bell is getting the number one tag why would you retire him. If plays next year and drops to say 5 best midfielder thats still a good value to the club.

A couple of things I picked up were that he's much more amicable with the East coast media than when he talks to the halfwits over here.

And I was a bit uncomfortable with the questioning about Harvey - I might be missing something but, what has Shaw actually done in his career to be so high and mighty about counselling Harvey on his performance? I know its his role at our club, but that's a worry in itself. My memory of Shaw is that he failed at the Crows, was literally run out of town and Blight came in and instantly made them a force, then he went to the Bombers as an assistant coach??? anything else?

Actually he said he doesn't lecture harvey but gives his opinion/advice whenn harvey asks for it.

It is a totally different role though, needing different skills. He may be an excellent mentor and an ordinary coach. Regardless, it would be up to Harvey to determine if it is useful or otherwise.
