Just thought i would let you guys know that Robin Narhas will most certainly be rookied by Carlton for the 2009 season. Carlton were agonisingly close to using one of their last picks on him today but have told him that they will rookie him instead. He will start training with them shortly.

I can concur with TGR here. Nahas is no chance of being at Carlton next year.

Not that I know much about him but the little I have seen just reminds me of the time when we drafted players like Brett Backwell. Just seems to lack something that makes me think he will have a successful AFL career. Too small and not remarkable enough to make up for it? He will, of course, probably get drafted and prove me wrong. :D

We'll see about that. Not what I'm hearing.

What i posted is the feedback Carlton gave Nahas. He is best mates with a good friend of mine. I was with him when he called Nahas after the draft. Up until yesterday i had never heard of this guy so i have no reason to make it up.

I concur with u Sir Jimi.Carlton have asked him to train with them.It may not be next week. Anyway you have guys called TGR, Gilly and The General who have either stated that they have never heard of Nahas or know a little bit about him, yet make judgement on the kid as though it's gospel.

Carlton did not pick a specialist forward pocket, hence why they have asked Nahas to train to hopefully get a spot on the rookie list.

Yeah he didnt give a specific date but he said he would start training within the next few weeks. :thumbsu:

I've seen plenty of Robby over the past 4 years and I'm not knocking the guy, he's a great little VFL player. Check through my posting history and check if I have a history of making stuff up.

I hear little snippets once in a while and while I don't have a direct line to the footy club I will be very surprised if Rob is a Carlton listed player next year.

Given that the rookie list is extended next year, we may select players that normally we may not have selected. However, given WH's drafting style, he's not the type we would usually look at.

That is a complete turnaround from your last post where you stated that Nahas has absolutely no chance of being a Carlton rookie listed player next year.

Maybe but Yarran joining Betts and Joseph make it less likely that we'll rookie a narhas or a sharples i'd have thought. Would particularly mind though as our forward structure needs all the venom we can muster.

Not WH, but I have heard that Nahas was not looked at by Carlton, depsite the rumours that he was.

Regardless of the outcome that is totally untrue. Unless the kid himself is a compulsive liar.

I have made it my business during my time here on BF to not deal in BS or inuendo, and only report what I have been told. Unless what I was told wasn't completely on the money, Nahas was never going to be drafted by Carlton yesterday.

Judging by the reaction, I would highly doubt that he will be joining us through the rookie draft either.

sorry to be a party pooper but...i went to school with him and iv heard that he is/was being looked at by carlton and collingwood...whether thats still happening or we have changed our mind in the last month i dont know.
