Rooke gets his medical report this week.
The outcome will determine if he retires.

He has been a good player for our team and we all wish his approach would rub of on some of our other players.

The main thing is that he has no long term issues with it

Good luck to Maxy then!

He was definitely missed this year, and has been a crucial part of the team since day 1.

I think if he doesn't get a good result it'll be a devastating blow to the team and supporters... as much as Gary and Bomber leaving IMO.

He's my fav both as a player and a character. Really hope the medicos can get to the bottom of the problem and he returns 100% fit and raring to go.

Would love him in the centre square should we play GC first up.

Agree. Very admired player. BUT, we will have to get used to life without Max. All to be revealed.

Awesome player - always makes me smile when on song.
Unfortunately blokes that play this way are inevitably here for a short time not a long time...............

I heard Max is undergoing a radical new treatement and sawing his leg off to replace it with that of a North American Grizzly Bear (appropriately entitled NAGB). Max indicated that he would do so under no anesthetic and would himself catch, mame, and amputate the beer in his post season break.....

I have no hestitation in saying that Max will be back bigger and better next year. I would be very wary of the bearded one after an extended break!

GEELONG tough guy Max Rooke has lost his brave battle with injury and is expected to be forced to retire.

Devastating news about Max. One heck of a footballer. Really sad to think he won't play in Geelong covers ever again.

The hits keep coming. Hats off to Rooke massive reason why we won 2009 cup. That brutal tackle on Clarke comes to mind straight away

With Gary Hocking by far the toughest player I have seen in the blue and white hoops.

A very sad day. A magnificent servant of the GFC.
I genuinely believe he was the difference on Grand Final day '09. Without him, we wouldn't have won.
Deserves a special place in the history of our club. Hopefully he won't be lost to the GFC, I'm sure he has something to offer down the track.

Its on the Herald Sun & Geelong Advertiser.....

Might not have been the best player, or most gifted...but BY FAR...THE MOST HEART. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT.....PERSON FOR THE GFC.

This is a bigger loss to our team than Ablett.
