I hear Ellard is in good shape... But I would elevate Jacobs for Hampson, due to our needs.

I think Setanta should be kept, he could be a good player for us in the future or a handy trade to the GC for draft picks.

Dont elevate anyone unless they are playing the next week. No point elevating them and still have them playing in the reserves.

Give them an incentive to do their best by keeping them on the rookie list until they are going to play senior football.

Exactly, one can be elevated to cover Warnock, not Setanta.

If it is decided by the AFL that Setanta was guilty of "bringing the game into disrepute" Carlton could sack him and replace him on the senior list.

If he is sacked without this qualification from the AFL we cannot replace him on the senior list.

This is the official AFL rules regarding the matter as reported in the media the day of the incident.

It looks unlikely that the AFL will go down this path as the match review panel has already looked at the incident and decided upon a suspension, so the answer seems to be that we would NOT be able to replace him on the senior list if we sacked him.

We already have 2 nominated rookie positions up for grabs in addition to being able to upgrade a rookie for Warnock so the only real advantage would be that Carlton would be able to remove Setanta'a salary from our cap if he was deemed to have "brought the game into disrespect" by the AFL and we then sacked him.

Carlton can automatically elevate 2 rookies as they don't have any vet's on their list. I think they will be Phieffer and Jacobs.
