I would Promote Danny Nicholls he needs the game time and is a fast little midget lol. I would like promote Clarke too but he needs a year for him to settle in and get the true feel of AFL.

I concur. I'd love for Clarke to have the opportunity later in the season, if form warrants it, but I would suggest it's too early.

Danny Nicholls seems the logical choice to me.

Daniel Nicholls. He's been in the system longer than the other rookies and I've been impressed with the way he's gone about his football ever since he got drafted to Collingwood.

I would say Martin Clarke, shortly followed by Danny Nicholls.

Neither. Neither of them would command a spot in the senior side at this point, and until one of them needs to get picked for Collingwood there is no point promoting anyone.

Leave them both on the rookie list while playing at Willi until a spot opens up that one them needs to fill (through form). Then promote them.

In my opinion, Clarke is ahead in the queue with Nicholls, and if he plays well through the NAB cup and con convince the coaching staff that he is in the best 22, then he will be promoted.

True. It would be foolish to use a spot on the list for a boy that is yet to play a proper games of football other than the mock match in Sydney. After 10+ games at Willy maybe so. Nicholls should be the man.

My guess is that nobody will be promoted by Round one - the club will leave its options open as long as possible.

No cut-off as far as I know.

When someone is promoted, the "delisted" player cannot play for a specified time (ten weeks????) - however as Dawes is out for the year, this is irrelevant.

That's exactly right. I think if we had to promote someone now it would be Clarke following the Sydney scratch match but what happens if Clarke struggles as bit or we need midfielders rather than half back flankers.

Vinnie you better have a good reason for not voting for Martin Clarke!! I trust it will be something to do with keeping the competition even in the AFL for one more season before unleashing the boy-wonder! Or are you thinking Williamstown could do with another flag in 2007?

Daniel Nicholls should be promoted now. I love how he goes about it. Hard in and under, quick and wins the pill. Also gets that important quick kick out of a stopage. He should play atleast 15 games this season.
