Would be hard to pick a passage with the big nose commentating, kind of puts you off listening. Good to hear a wow wee though.

I can only really see two clear areas of clear superiority in West Coasts list as compared to ours. Key forwards and the relative polish of players in the 23 to 27 age group (in our case our drafting was so hit and miss between 2003/4 and 2007 we have been forced to fill the gap with mature age role players like Muzungu or Spur)
In every other area we are either equal or well in front
Midfield – In front
Ruck – more or less equal. Although NN is a difference maker being two players in one.
Key defence – more or less equal
Running and Lockdown backs – in front
Wingers – in front
High half forwards – in front
Small forwards – in front. Waayy in front
Medium forwards – Le Cras puts them in front. Otherwise they have nothing.
Up and coming midfielders – waayyy waayy in front. The must be sh*tting their pants over that one.

Lets be honest here, you don't have the equivalent of Naianui, Glass, Kennedy, Darling, Cox, Kerr or even Waters when he's fit. Your best players are old men = Pav, Sandi and McPharlin and the youth coming through apart from Fyfe are just vanilla mate. The credit goes entirely to Lyon for your recent success and I am willing to bet if he was at West Coast we would be top 2 guaranteed.

You only have to look at the Saints collapse when he left to see than Ross is the man behind their Grand Final appearances in the last 5 years.

You've mentioned 3 nearly retired players in your list there and Sandi, Pav, McPharlin, Mundy are easily their equal.
Of the rest I'll take - Fyfe, Hill, Walters, Clarke, Hannath, Crozier, Neale, Suttcliffe as up and comers and Griffin, Ibbo, MJ, Duffield, Mayne, Ballantyne, Spurr, Pearce x 2 as mid rangers over anything your put can put up.
We've murdered you in recent drafting with one miss in Darling. Other than that you got nothing.

Define equivalent? How equivalent do they need to be? The bolded are all old men. Very good players, but old men still. Ibbo is playing pretty well these days. Not too bad a comparison to Waters.

As for Kennedy and Darling... we don't have young, up-and-coming KPFs. Have quite a few very promising mids coming through though.

You want vanilla? Look at the young mids you have playing WAFL. Now that's what I call vanilla.

You stocked up on young talls. You've got a lot of them now. But you're lacking the depth in young mids. Time will tell which side made the right choice.

Prefering one player other another is just opinion and can't really be disproved, fair enough. But suggesting our best three players are old men and juxtaposing it against a list also containing three old men is idiotic.

Lets just wait till end of the season, you may have a list of stars but no good as a team. There needs to be cohesion and team work, which RTB brings to Freo.

We can have an average list but hard workers who get the job done day in and day out, thats what matters.

Yes when it comes to push and shuv then yes you need stars.
