What will be the team to first take the park in the year we regain our rightful place in the competition?

I Predit out best 22 to be:

FB: Thornton Jamison Grigg
HB: Bower Waite Carrazzo
C: Stevens Gibbs Simpson
HF: Walker Cloke Houhlihan
FF: Betts Fevola Fisher

R: White

How good does it feel to have depth again?! Some of those players on the bench would slot in many, many sides.

Won't be in the starting side.

Austin would be ahead of him and Carrots in the back pocket.

Scotland would start also.

I also would have Hampson in there with cloke on the bench and kruez at chf.

I'd bet a pretty large sum of money that Thornton will be part of our round 1 side.

If he's around, which he will be as he won't be traded, he'll be in the backline from round 1.

In 2009 he will be in his last year of his contract. He will play.

Was that when we had about 100 disposals to 40 odd and it never came down there and when it did the loose man was always in Browns way and he still tried extra hard to give away free kicks (did you see the Joe Anderson mark) and did you also see his first 3 quarters on Bradshaw??

It goes both ways what more can he do when we got absolutley smashed in the 3rd quarter and with the amount of ball going into the brisbane forward line even the very best defenders would struggle. When a team kicks 9 goals to 1 there's not much you can do and the way he came back and had a solid last quarter is a credit to the bloke. BTW i like the look of that team very solid..

Credit where it is due. Whilst Thornton was ordinary on Bradshaw he really stepped up in the last qrt on Brown. Watched the replay and at a guess there was about 6 contests where Thornton negated Brown clearly. Think you are looking through fogged glasses based on Thornton's lack of sharpness for much of the season.

If White starts we are definitley going backwards imo. We need strong leaders to come into the club. Even when White was a good player he didn't possess and real mental strength imo.

yeh i did actually and he didnt do a bad job. Bradshaw had only 6 kicks (yes they were all goals) but when you look at it 2 or 3 were lucky shots from the boundary and one was that disgraceful decision against hampson and another was when he lept over kruezer and took the mark. Really what can thornton do about them??

Because it's not a matter of 'if' it's a matter of 'when'...

Anyways, the side..

Couldn't decide on a lot of players.. the depth is amazing to think that Armfield, Browne, Austin and Anderson can all slot into the backline and hold their own, Hadley & Bentick back-up/resting on-ballers, Hampson in the ruck stocks and Wiggins can play short or tall(ish) forward.

Its also good to see that bar the genuine stars, a lot of people can't just relax in their positions anymore because they will be dropped unlike the 2002-2007 era.
