AFL Club
Geelong
Carlton vs Richmond Thursday 21st MCG
Collingwood vs Geelong Friday 22nd MCG

Saturday March 23

Melbourne vs Port Adelaide MCG
Adelaide vs Hawthorn Adelaide Oval
Bulldogs vs Sydney Marvel
Brisbane vs West Coast GABBA

Sunday March 24

St.Kilda vs Gold Coast Marvel
GWS vs Essendon Showground
Fremantle vs North Optus

Could West Coast get rolled in round 1? They will be missing several players. Their team is stacked however. Could be a banana skin game for them as the Lions were competitive in many fixtures last year, especially at the GABBA. The Eagles did beat them there convincingly in the last home and away fixture last year, missing a host of players to secure top 2. The Lions could be on the up in season 2019. Whoever wins it's just one beautiful story that will unfold in a cracking opening round in what hopefully is an amazing season.

Richmond hellbent to make amends. The MCG will explode on that Thursday Night with a feirce Tiger Roar.
Pies vs Cats, an awesome way to kick off Friday night football at the G. Collingwood burning from 2018 up against a side that didn't fire in the Cats despite their Rolls Royce midfield.
The Dees, another side to look out for against Port that dropped off bad at the end of the season missing finals.

Adelaide getting a healthy list looking to also redeem itself after a huge let down last year against Hawthorn who've recruited well but are missing their best player and Brownlow medallist. Will Sydney and Buddy go another year playing finals? How do the Bulldogs respond after two sub-par years after winning the Granny?

The Saints have a golden opportunity to get a win in round 1 and start their campaign in fine fashion.

GWS vs Essendon - A titanic clash straight off the bat.

How do Freo go at home with some serious fire power added up forward? North are a team that many predict will play finals in 2019.

Pies vs Cats is mesmerising.

Awesome round to open 2019.

Carlton vs Richmond: will be similar to recent season openers, Blues to have a crack but Tigers to shrug them off after half time and win by about 5 goals.

Collingwood vs Geelong: Cats to jump the Pies and lead at half time, Collingwood to claw back in the 3rd and 4th finally hitting the front with two or three mins to go, then Hawkins to take a last gasp mark in the final minute and secure a nail bitingly close win.

Melbourne vs Port Adelaide: Arm wrestle for 3 quarters, Dees to rise in the last and win by 3-4 goals.

Adelaide vs Hawthorn: Hawks to produce an upset and win by 2 goals

Bulldogs vs Sydney: Swans to show they shouldnt be written off just yet and easily account for the dogs by about 6 goals.

Brisbane vs West Coast: Lions to lead at every change, Eagles see out the game better though and win by about 2 goals.

St.Kilda vs Gold Coast: Draw

GWS vs Essendon: Draw, first time in yonks we have two draws in the same round, let alone the same day.

Fremantle vs North: Dockers to blitz roos early, North hit back after half time and trim the lead but too little to late. Freo to hold on by a whisker.

Carlton vs Richmond.... AFL opens with Carlton, I will be busy putting coasters on my kitchen chair legs to stop scratching the timber flooring.

Collingwood vs Geelong.... DeGoey to play out the game in full this time. Even the last 2 minutes.

Melbourne vs Port Adelaide... Demons raging media favourites!!, Rangerover jokes, fireworks, Norm Smith, Ron Barrassi... Port Win by 6 goals.

Adelaide vs Hawthorn.... Crows just. Don Pyke caught on camera moving his head.

Bulldogs vs Sydney.... Dogs win after the siren, AFL reintroduce COLA allowance.

Brisbane vs West Coast.... Lions win, Eagles cant travel, world collapsing, season over, heat stroke.

St.Kilda vs Gold Coast .... most anticipated event since Suzanne Vega released her songbook collection.

GWS vs Essendon..... crowd 9,542. Orange seats 15,458.

Fremantle vs North Melb.... Hogan 12 goals, Freo new premiership favourites. Lyon gets 2 year extension and a Goldfingers sponsorship deal.

Just on the Tigers v Blues.

It is possible the Tigers will be without Jack R, Tom L, Castagna and Grigg. So it might be a makeshift forward line (and ruck set up :p). So if it all pans out that way the Tigers might be quite getable. Still expect to win, but forecasting Jack's baby, Tom's knee etc there might be a lot of outs.

I'm fine with that. Losing is bad but a draw makes me feel the whole thing is pointless.
Yeah, you don't know how to react in draws, as its neither a win or loss.

You might also add, Caesar's comet could hit Punt Road on the Tuesday training session.
Now you have me thinking, I hate that... I'll modify my tip.

Richmond by only 72 points.

If Adelaide can’t beat Box Hill then the Crows should put a line through this season.
Hawthorn supporters really do fear losing. 3 weeks out from round 1 and the excuses have already started.

Yeah and Caddy might not make it.

I reckon down to 67 points.

Hey what was Geelong’s excuse losing to an under strength Hawks team last year? Two can play this game.

Hawthorn are missing 4 top 10 players. I think that’s a genuine excuse. Crows are at home and are close to full strength.
