We had some excellent players last night, but Watson was a fair way ahead as the best on ground. Howlett was very good but benefited pretty much directly from Watson's ability to win the ball in tight.

5. Watson
4. Dempsey
3. Howlett
2. Hocking
1. Davey

I snuck Davey in because I believe even his perceived pressure caused mistakes in the Adelaide defence.

Apologies for Heppell (started well), Carlisle (left out as it was obviously not a night for big forwards so played into his hands), and Kommer (played well but think it's a first game glow, he wasn't in our top 5)

4. Howlett
3. Hocking
2. Dempsey
1. Fletcher

Same for me. There was one passage (can't remember when now) when they were attacking and I thought it would be a Crow's goal. Then this tall guy drifted back, took an easy mark, and booted the ball back to a team mate. Fletcher once again.

Great game by the whole team. But definitely Jobe Watson lead the side to victory. Great start. Hope this isn't just the beginning. We were watching a high potential side play. Jobe for Brownlow? Awesome!!!

I agree that Kommer may not have been in the best five but i gave him a vote for i was pleased with his effort and some of the little things he did like the tap on to Jobe.

I will be happy if he plays like that most weeks this season.

5. Howlett. His best game for the club.
4. Watson. In glorious nick.
3. Hocking. Did his bit, and did it really well
2. Carlisle. As above
1. Dempsey. Important dash, looked like he played a bit further up the park.

Next five would be Fletcher, heppell, Kommer, Davey and Stanton in no particular order.

5. Hocking <-- did the most to help the team win, stopped a bloke called Dangerfield.. is he good?
4. Howlett <-- supoib game
3. Watson <-- Mr Brownlow is keen again
2. Dempsey <-- dat run
1. Carlisle <-- Mullet smasher
