The Tigers Warriors game was entertaining but only because of how bad they both were for halves of football.

Cowboys Sharks also good quality.

Outside of the Friday night game, it's been a good opening round.
What didn't you like about last nights game ? A structured, disciplined gameplan with a good kicking game doesn't rock your boat ?

Was just a terribly boring game as a neutral. I'm not that interested in games that aren't competitive.

Fair enough, but if you want to see a perfect first half, you wouldn't have to go a long way to go.. Canterbury put on a masterclass..

okay, tigers off to their flying start after a round 1 win. :D:D:D
Lets see what sort of effort is put in at Leichhardt next Monday Night.
Who have they got next Monday? Might pop down there. I work in Pyrmont so it's not far at all and I do love that ground.

Manly. I'm travelling up from Melbourne for the game.

Ahh bummer. Manly fans rarely travel anyway let alone on a Monday night.

Will definitely be worth the trip for you though :thumbsu: could be a big chance for 2-0.

..and what's even better is that I'm on holidays on the gold coast after that game and will get to go to Round 3 up there.:):):)

Brilliant! I'm guessing you don't get to see them very often?
About 4-5 games a year. Usually never in Melbourne.

Gona be a long year for Penrith... Raiders aren't much better. Both teams ordinary defense.
It was 35 degrees with reduced interchange. I'd cut some slack at this time of year. I nearly went along (living two km or so from Bruce Stadium) but it was just so frigging hot.

Penrith might be in trouble though with Segeyaro out for an extended period of time after breaking his arm.

Raiders would be my sneaky tip for top 4 tbh. Think they showed huge improvement without getting results last year and have bought well on top of that. Hodgson is class, Sezar finally has good team around him and Wighton is getting better and better. Should make the 8.

Cowboys Sharks sounded like a good game. Cows obviously a bit affected by the travel.

Neither of the opening two games were particularly great. Dogs played quite well, I think they are in trouble should Graham go down this year but they did well. My doubts over Manly's recruitment remain, despite all the preseason hype.

Enjoyed how the Tigers played footy. There is positivity there, though I don't expect them to go far this year. Not enough forwards depth. Brooks coming back, and him and Moses with actually a decent bit of footy under their belts now, could be good to watch. McFadden lasting the season would shock me if yesterday is an indicator. Same old crap defence out wide for the Warriors, they are better than that.

But, it's round one. Takes a few weeks for some sides to click into gear. Cows dropped three games to start the season last year.

great post, love your analysis.

I can't see Raiders being top 4.

I like the Sharks, Cowboys and Broncos. Dogs did ok.
I see Penrith and Tigers out of the 8.

Im worried for Manly and the Warriors. Both served up slop after good recruting. They should click but they have a lot of clicking to do.

But it's early, still good discussion.

Looking forward to rabbits v roosters today

It's amazing how different the Roosters side is to round 1 last season. No Tuivasa-Scheck, Jennings, Maloney, Pearce, Waerea-Hargreaves, Daniel Tupou and Boyd Cordner. It's an extraordinary turnaround, like I've never seen before. All are multiple Rep or International players and some of the best in their positions in the league. Amazing.

Thought that was crazy. Have roosters missing the 8. No jwh pearce or cordner for some time, let alone the others that left last year. Souths look sharp, reynolds good, sutton has been good also.

I reakon they will scrape in the 8...they will slowly get better and better as players come back
