Watched the replay tonight. Cannot talk highly enough of Hocking's game. As well as totally destroying Wells, I noticed a few occasion where he helped his younger team mates. On on occasion someone was manhandling Daniher and Hocking ran in and just smashed him and got in his face. I ****ing Hocking

I've been apprehensive to have him the side because despite the odd glimpse of class I couldn't see where he fit into the picture. That's the best thing about Merrett's game, he defined his role. Playing that high pressing, counter attacking, half forward, he was so pivotal in that last quarter in keeping the ball in our half and breaking up their forward thrusts. He put his hand up and said this is what I can bring to the side and it was very good.

Don't get me wrong, I couldn't be happier with the win and how the boys played, but the exciting thing for me is that I think Heppell still has bit of improvement in him.
What was his disposal efficiency? (sorry not sure where to find this).
1st game and all, he did miss a few targets he would normally hit.

Found it. Heppell at 70.3% which is fine, but with Jobe at 89 and Goddard at 80, he has some improvement.

LOL at Ziebell at 33.3% - THE worst out of 44 players in our Round 1 game. Makes Hardi look like a gold medal winning marksman at 58.8%.
