It pains me to start this thread but in reality if Raines is out 3-4 ill be getting rid of him. Most likely ill be doing this-

Have no idea who I'd swap Raines out for as I already have Hill.

I guess my options would be Geary, Pettard or maybe even grimes as I heard he will only be missing 2 weeks.

I'm not swapping Raines out until just before the price increase though so at least it will give me a couple of weeks to access the other options.

you're going to have to wait for the round obviously, but i'll wait to see how petrenko goes from the crows, and also if hill plays. hill ought to play, because well it's fremantle, they need all the help they can get, besides richmond

News Back surgery puts Gumbleton out for 12 weeks

Gulmbleton out if anyone still had him... bad news for the kids with no luck.


ESSENDON key forward Scott Gumbleton will miss at least three months of this season after the club took the decision to operate on his troublesome back.
However, the injury-prone youngster could be ruled out for the rest of the season, as he is not due to have the surgery for a fortnight and he will then have to rest for another 12 before resuming training.

Reckon I'll do this 2 and hold onto him until the price increase and hope that it is only bruising or jarred and he may only be out 4 a few weeks anyway and if that being the case I'll bring one of the emergencies in!!

Is one $279K player out of 30 really going to make or break anyone's team? Who's to say the same won't happen to Houlihan next week?

So far I only have 1 bench ruckman (Spencer) not playing this weekend out of 30

If I had Cuz however I'd be ditching him. I think he'll be lucky to play 10 games this year.

Will look to keep Raines if I can, I've got Collier and Hill on the bench. Attempted to go for a little depth on the bench this year due to the fact that the back rookies usually screw me over.

Worst Case Scenario is wait another week and make a trade after 2 rounds. That way I can get an idea of who might go up a bit in price.

I'm holding on to Raines also. If bench players like PAtrenko and Hill and Suban can live up to their potential, there's no need to waste a trade so early.

Well my downgrade targets from Raines are Petrenko and Suban. If I picked up Suban then I would have 3 Freo rookie backmen in Hill, Broughton and Suban (I would have had Suban instead of Broughton if the SC site hadn't crashed). I'll see who goes best out of those two I guess and also see if Suban even plays.

The SC site crash also means that I have Rob Murphy instead of the intended Skipworth. I think I'll wait for a couple of rounds to pass before potentially offloading Murph for a cashed-up Skippy. From there I should have plenty of cash to grab whichever midfielder I like out of Wells, Gibbs and Kerr.
