I've managed to briefly access the Internet from where I'm staying in Brisbane.

I haven't had the chance to ask this before and I think it's pertinent for those who may be located outside a football orientated area (as I am this week and may be again later in the year).

Why Thursday night?

Why not Friday at say 6 pm or at 7.30 pm when the Round will actually start?

If one doesn't watch 'The Footy Show' or can access a Melbourne radio station, such as 3AW or SEN, what chance do you have to find out who is in or out for the week and select a side accordingly? At least on Friday morning the teams are in most daily newspapers around the country and a team can be selected on that basis.

Certainly in my case this week there was absolutely no way I could know who from my squad had been selected for this week's AFL teams on Thursday night.

I'll leave it up to the Commission to decide for Round 1, when the cut-off is for Round 1.

However can I strongly suggest that the deadline for future rounds not be on Thursday night at midnight? It should be switched to Friday afternoon/evening either at 6 pm or more sensibly at 7.30 pm, just before the first match for most rounds starts. If it is an earlier start to the Round say on a Thursday, then it should be done there.
