Now that our list is virtually finalised (we won't use a pick in the PSD and it's unlikely our draft picks will have an immediate impact), how does this look for a Round 1 side, to tackle the Bombers:

we have 2 do something bout lloyd, nearly always stiches up nicholson...except last year when he got 3 goals and 2 were from very dodgey free kicks in the last.

also i think Bell shouldnt be ahead of McLean

and... depending on how his wizard cup goes...perhaps johnson instead of Jamar as a forward/ruck

I agree with this team. The forward pocket position of Jamar is the only questionable one because Holland played there in 2004 and there is Jamar, Johnson and Smith who could also fulfill that role.

I'd like to see how Ferguson goes over the summer, see if he builds up his body because if he can, then he is a chance for full back.

Exciting times when you look at our young spine Rivers and Miller, plus hard youngsters such as McLean, Sylvia, Bell, Moloney and the exciting Davey.

Jmac is a certainty to be in our best 22 but for our starting 18 I'm not too sure.

Really depends how Sylvia,McLean and Bell go in Wizard Cup.

i love macca, he deserves to be in the side no doubt, but he could be unlucky.
what would annoy me would be if dutchy retained his spot in any 22 for melbourne next year.

I hope Ferguson bulks up a bit and keeps fit because I would consider him for Round 1. No better time to blood him than 2005.

If Fergy bulks up then he'd be a very good chance of getting a gig at fullback.

Broadbridge could be another possible option if he builds up a bit although unfortunately I see Nicho as our FB for Round 1.

Hope I'm proven wrong.

Slyvia is suspended from his incident in the VFL grand final. Jamar won't play in the forward pocket, Neale has shown confidence that Whitey can ruck all day without too much help.
What about Vardy? Hasn't officially gone yet.
He'd be in there.
