Not sure I like those ins, aside from Scerri. OMac is always a bit iffy for me, I re-watched the Dees game Round 2 a few weeks back and he stood out in Q1 for the number of mistakes and fumbles he was making, at this level I'm not sure he is the right call. I feel they should have given Davies a go whilst Pearce rehabs. Disappointed, but hopefully he has a good game. And wishing NOD goes well, but he leaves a bit to be desired in his latter years' form too.

Of course Essendon will go physical, they'll be looking to disrupt the long down the line ball and break off from there.

Hopefully the team has enough firepower to get it done and those levers to flex if certain things aren't working. Voss could do with putting in a big one, I know his sickness affected him and even losing those few kilos, but he needs to get going.

I don't feel inspired, I don't feel confident. 10 day break is a welcome rest for the guys without question, but could also have 'disrupted' their rhythm a little bit, so to speak. Losing Pearce, Young and Wagner in one hit is not good. You factor in these things and I'm feeling pessimistic. Just not sure.

Anyway, hopefully the guys prove me a doubting Thomas and a negative nellie, because it just has that 'vibe' to it.

our last 12 months suggests well win the game, but even if we lose, a blip on the radar is not the end of the world. we know how we stack up now and i reckon we have most of our game in order and losing the odd game wont be the end of the world.

in saying that we genuinely may go undefeated from here on out.

(the rest of you guys ****ing suck at enjoying being the best team in the comp bloody hell get some confidence in you)
Speak for yourself mate. I’m like a pig in 💩 this year 🇹🇭.

Just when I'm trying to like JLo he pulls that crap. Unbelievable. NOD over Sharp is minor but Omac over Davies is stupid. Omac was crap the first 2 games this year and is 30. We should be getting games into Davies now incase we need him down the track. Very disappointing.

Good to see Scerri again after being wrongfully dropped.

O.Mac clearly the wrong decision as well.

Scerri was good on debut then struggled. Dropping him was the right call. Hopefully he goes well Sunday.

Shit, last time I watched Peel properly I swear O.Mac was actually playing forward.

Not sure how he gets in on form when you’ve been sent up to the forward line.

Yea this is usual match committee stuff here. Thought we would have rewarded form in the twos but anyway

At least it’s Essendon (the only side along with Richmond that we can properly put away) and at least Scerri gets to play more games. Has already shown he has what it takes to be on an AFL list imv

OMac only played fwd for one game and the 4th qtr vs Subi before that. Then the following week (last week) against East Perth which was essentially an audition for Pearce's spot, he was sent back.

Yeah this is where JL differs from some of the more progressive coaches - not that it makes him worse specifically, just different. In this case he's clearly taking Essendon very seriously based on recent form and he's gone conservative.

However, Davies is the future, he can't do anymore right now and he's ready. I think this happens purely because we also lose Young and Wagner. If it was only Pearce it would've been Davies.

This is my chief worry with JL - we'll preserve ourselves with safety and experience when we could look ahead (and that's Davies and Simpson in my view) to what could be. I really believe that's the difference between a flag and coming up short - but that's me.

Watch a peel game if you have time - Simpson has really been nothing special, unfortunately

Scerri was my preferred in for Young, NOD over Sharpy is lineball. I join the collective sigh on O'Mac over Davies, but the proof will be in the pudding.

Honestly though after Youngy getting concussed at training, the carry-on about Ryan being dropped early in the season when it turned out he was too ill to be considered for selection, who knows what is actually going on behind the scenes? Davies could have have developed a severe ingrown toenail for all we know.

Missing a few best 23 players is pretty standard stuff for every team in this sport. We only drop this if the whole team have been busy drinking their own bathwater and inhaling each others farts all week. Looks like NOD, Scerri and McDonald are the ins. I always thought the order of players named on the extended bench was a clue. Could be wrong.

More important to get the win and back it up against the Saints next week rather than going too hard for percentage with a 5 day break to follow.
;)

I would assume Young’s replacement is NoD, not Scerri. Wags role covered by Scerri / others

If Omac was good in rounds one and 2 then unlucky to lose his spot then fair enough but I thought he was poor. We made Shannon Neale look like Jason Dunstall in round 1.

Moose is out for at least 2, maybe saving Davies for next weeks home game. 🤷‍♂️

Dunno, just spitballing.

Hopefully that's the plan with the 5 day break. Go with Omac in the wet agianst the Bombers then Davies next week.

JL has always been conservative with selections. Not surprising really but is disappointing. Driz and Scerri are fine but what is the logic of going for the 30 year old fringe player over the youngster who needs experience?

JOM straight back in next week too.
