Yesterday was the first game I was able to take my dad to in years due to being very sick these past few years so was a massive milestone in his recovery. So happy the boys turned up for him and he was able to have a great day.

This might be a bit of a hyperbole, though this is the most reliable this club has been since 2010/2011. I know we won the flag in 2023, though there were games throughout the season where it was a genuine coin toss and we disappeared for a half in some.

You feel like there's such a buy in this season and we're not reliant on any one player. You go back to the preview thread and some people weren't too concerned with Moore being out because we knew that Frampton and the collective backline is good enough. You take the CHB and FF out of a team and they'll struggle against most teams, let alone a contender.

Not us though. Something special is happening this year.

Glad your father had a good day.

FMD, a bit part player plays a bit part role and that's all you can contribute after a good win.
Actually contributed quite a lot of positives here BMB so go and do your research before blowing up
Your welcome to disagree without slagging off but like a lot here believe that sully has to go
Good to see A@&$wipe reappear also

If shoota comes in then Sullivan is probably the one to make way. I'm seeing him as a must drop player though. He was good again yesterday

You think he was good that’s fine
I don’t
He try’s hard and puts in and is harder than Allan at this stage but just dint think he’s good enough IMO
But at least your disagreeing in a civilised way unlike some other cavemen here

It just looked like he had a role and wasn't expected to do anything flash. Maybe not best 23 at full strength but he's a very handy depth player.

Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned.

But that last play is why we win so many games.
With 1:30 on the clock, we get a break from D50 and bruzzy….who could have gone to 55 and had a shot, stops and chips it to Pat.

No interest in having a shot. If he misses, we are not set up and offer the crows an attempt at going end to end.

The chip to pat takes another 30-40 seconds off the clock and its game over. Doesn’t matter what Pat does with the kick…,just take the full allotment of time.
That’s a pretty awesome level of game awareness when most players would pin the ears back and try and win it with a goal.
Was watching the GC v Dawks game, with just on 2 min to go, Long marks it on the wing, has a player on their own near the boundary but just pumps it forward to a Dawks player. They still won, but amazes me that other teams haven’t learnt from us.

We’ve def got an opportunity to rotate a few in the next few weeks and set us up for a more difficult last few weeks before finals.

We really did cop a top 4 team draw despite missing finals. Upside is will put us in good stead as we aren’t relying on easy wins to make it

It is pretty amazing how tough our draw has been compared to the average.

Of the current top 8, the number of games each has played against the bottom 6 teams as of this round are

Collingwood - 1

Brisbane - 5

Gold Coast - 4

Hawthorn - 4

Adelaide - 3

Bulldogs - 3

Geelong - 3

GWS - 3

We really have the capacity to put a gap on the chasing pack in these next rounds if we hold our nerve.

This is a real test, we have had a tendency to drop games against strugglers, but if we keep our effort up we should be able to really put points on the board.

We're a different team this year.
I can't see us letting this one slip.
Charlie to debut and kick a bag.
(Yeah, that last bit is more in hope, but stranger things have happened).

The general consensus is the umpires helped us win that.

What are people actually watching? The bias completely blinds them.
It was shocking umpiring for both teams, the one that nearly cost us was the throw to Soligo for that snap goal.
Some of those head high calls on a wet day were an absolute joke

The general consensus was that the umpires helped us with the game, but they won the free kick count.

The general consensus was also that Adelaide lost because they didn't take their chances in front of goal, yet we missed more shots on goal than they did (6 behinds to 5) and could easily have been further in front than we were.

It appears that at least some of the time the general consensus is full of shit.
