With Timmy, if they decided to give him limited minutes in the VFL match next round to dust the cobwebs off or not bring him back till after the bye I'd be comfortable with it (as will the club be). Whatever is necessary to ensure he is fully fit for September with optimal risk mitigation in the interim to minimise the risk of a reoccurrence or long term consequences. If he's fine all well and good.

I'd assume Scott will be OK and Treloar will be out. If Timmy doesn't come back, Lipinski would be the only change I'd make. I don't think he's in our best 22 but familiarity and minimal disruption would trump, imo, bringing a promising clearance player (Garcia) or West into this game against a Dees ruck and clearance division that will require every bit of experience, guile and cohesion from the likes of Libba, Bont, Macrae and Smith to counter. Lipi has familiarity on his side and is adequate cover for Treloar. We're missing 2 of our best (Dunks and Treloar) but what can you do.

If Timmy is fit, who goes out. I presume it will be Hannan (who played quite well last night). If Scott is out, Hannan may be retained.

Beveridge basically said English will be right to go this week. Was more back to himself, trained strongly late in the week and would have been disappointed not to play last night.

He said a few boys will be back next week, don’t think he meant seniors, as it was when he was talking about Footscray being 50/50 with AFL listed players and VFL players but mentioned McLean as one of them. Would assume JUH and Lipinski would be two others.

Treloar to miss some weeks, low grade is the prognosis but no scan yet. Sucks but hopefully just a 3-4 week injury and ready to go after the bye would be best case for us.

I would still go with
Out:
Treloar (injured)
Scott (injured - if not still out and sub)

In:
English
Garcia

Unfortunate that it looks like we'll be missing starting mids against one of the only other teams with an A-grade midfield.

I don’t think Melbourne’s midfield is that deep really.

Oliver and petracca are stars and they likely get viney back but then they drop away in terms of centre square mids. Langdon and brayshaw play wing mostly. Their advantage is the ruck. Even without dunks and treloar we have more depth.

Bont - petracca
Libba - Oliver
Macare - viney
Smith - ?

Wings
Hunter - brayshaw
R smith - Langdon

They got smacked in clearances by Carlton and smashed in centre clearances by Sydney.

Bit of a round about way to think about it but Young played forward it seemed. So could just come back out for Timmy to play there. Potentially a mid down with Adz out but we have a lot who can roll through there. Having said that I reckon Garcia or West would be decent ins.

Young only came on as sub though so if English comes in, someone from the starting 22 needs to come out.

Yeah realise that which is Adz as noted above. Just that once Adz was out we structured up with Young forward. I.e Young (Adz) for English would be same structure as we played the second half.

I'd like to really see this, think Wallis will be breathing fire if he get's a run in the seniors.

Out: Treloar, Scott
In: English, Wallis

However, most likely i can see this happening

Wallis’ intensity and effort has never been this issue.
