How can the captain act like that. Seriously. Him and Newk couldn’t be further apart in terms of leadership out there
"bUT hE's in AA fORm"

Been an issue all year sometims okay but does terrible things at times. I think the co captains was a soft demotion to avoid headlines but he won't be captain next year. I thought last week he finally turned a corner, just happened to be playing on a spud in a poor team. Same as his good game against Essendon.

Dont need A.I. to know 9.17 is kaka. I'd winge about the umpiring but sadly it was about par. I wish I had a job i could totally rodger and the boss kiss my.... Training, Monday to Friday Goal kicking followed by a weekend of goal kicking. Then repeat. If we kick 18.2 and loose I can swallow that but FFS 9.17 is almost treason. P.S. It was a mark every day of the week. Dill and Diller will sign it off no worries.

What you mean...apart from West's goal they would be expecting to kick pretty much all of them. All either straight in front or within 15m. Maybe if we kicked even remotely straight we wouldn't be here.
Oh I agree 100% we kicked ourselves out of the game but just an interesting (and frustrating) observation I’ve made is how accurate oppo teams are against us. The juxtaposition to our goal kicking just makes it worse

While still probably the best team we've had under Mitchell this year's team feel more vulnerable at the MCG than in previous years. Strange.
It's got to be cause we've barely played there? I'm not Guna check the fixture but it feels like we haven't played there much this year, but when we have yeah we get exposed.

To win a flag, we are going to need to win 4 tough finals in 4 weeks, possibly even 5 in 5. You need consistency of performance to pull that off, it's not us. Just making up the numbers .... again. Very disappointing, especially after being in control of the game at 1/2 time.

Too many soft players in this team.

Feel bad for Watson who gives it his all every contest. No excuse why he couldn’t get on sooner in that last quarter, especially when it was stuck in our forward line for so long
Croc and Amon would both get scared of their own shadows. Don’t get me started on some of the players who just can’t stick a tackle.

A lot of talk about our forward line, however the injury to Lewis was a massive issue for us. His presentation through the arcs was missed greatly.

He straightens us up. He was clearly hampered and it cost us.

The season has taught us, that our leads mean very little. We lack that mental strength to move away and create a buffer.

KOLOKOTRONIS

Some of the melts here are pretty laughable.

We dominated the game but failed to capitalise which is absolutely frustrating but saying that we "didn't turn up to play", "disgusting effort" or "not a serious football team" is just plain wrong and frankly stupid.
You can keep doing the happy clapping but stopping telling everyone how stupid they are. You only look really stupid yourself.

Pat on the back for CMac again?

Ever since Ginni was touted as a possible AA ... one of footy's great trades ... one of the smartest players in the game ... he's sucked. He was too indecisive today, too cute & too unreliable .... right up to the last kick of the game.

Who on our list is genuinely tough? We have so many mentally weak footballers who love to crack on when the game is on our terms but go missing when it gets tough. It is just not good enough.

Its embarrassing that Massa is our 5th hardest player after Newk, Hardwick, Impey and Nash.

Y

You’re falling into the trap of reputation vs output. He’s had one good game this year and was awful most of last year.
Love Moorey. Been underwhelming in a lot of games this year. Sprinkled with some reasonable ones.

Amon really stood out tonight in terms of avoiding all physical contact, not good enough from a senior player.

Never seen Ginnivan use the ball so poorly. His decision making was just as bad. Love him but gee that was a hard night for him
Gunston makes it so easy for us to deliver to. Not sure why we cannot get any forward space when he's not there. Is it because he's the one constantly saying "get out of my way"?

1. A little embarrassed by our club tbh. The wrestling and remonstrating. Hate it. Terrible look. And bad football. We got sucked in. Head isn't in the game. Sicily setting a bad example. Watson, dis nothing in second half. If you are going to be lippy, you better back it up. Foolish.

2. BALL MOVEMENT! I have been saying it all year. Our ball movement coming off half back has been too conservative and pedestrian. Always trying to pick for the perfect option. Too slow. Then out half forwards don't run together, running the ball into HF.

And its been papered over by out 3rd problem.

3. INSIDE 50 OPTIONS.
We have been patting ourselves on the back about how clever we are with Gunston. BUT ITS TOO ONE DIMENSIONABLE! When it works, yeah the coaches can suck each other off with how clever they are. But what did Clarko always say, you need multiple spread of goal kickers. We know that.

And this is why our ball movement up the ground has been pedestrian. We are looking for the perfect avenue, for the perfect delivery to Gunston. But if the oppo can shut that down, then you get what you get tonight.

I feel Sam is having a poor coach year. We are a middle of the road team at them moment.

The opposition have been setting up the same since Collingwood. Flood the corridor/backline and hit us on the rebound. It's now stopped our run and dash. We combated that well in the first half with uncontested possession, but struggled to get the ball 2nd half. This is also why we are so poor with our accuracy. Getting forced out wide. It's definitely a problem.

We’re not.

We just have to be maniacs first week and beat one of Freo or Sydney and we can go from there.

Tonight was crap. But we clean a few things up and who knows how good we could be.

We’ve beaten Sydney, Geelong and could have rolled Freo.

This team can be different with an All Australian and premiership full back and an All Australian and premiership full forward. And I expect Will Day to be a very different player come end of August than he is now.

You open yourself up to flack when you carry on the way that we did. If you're doing that in a home and away game, imagine how easily we'd open up in the granny. Meek could mark but couldn't kick. Reeves could ruck but couldn't kick. Ginni could find the space but couldn't kick. Lewis couldn't run but had a knock so i'll give him slack. Perez doesn't look to have the AFL brain sadly. That being said, dogs fought hard. We didn't capitulate but we didn't match it either. Ultimately, I think we're sitting pretty close to where we deserve to be
