Round 13.

A bye round, but somehow not the full disaster we were bracing for.

Before we get into trades, if you haven’t already signed up for the Neale Daniher MND tribute, buy a beanie or jump on their website and donate.

Donations preferred, because every cent goes to the cause. A genuinely important one.

Now, back to ruining our weekends.

Only Richmond and GWS are sitting out this week, which means most sides should be able to scrape together 18, even if it involves holding your nose and fielding a few absolute crimes against SuperCoach.

The plan this week is pretty simple.

Trade in premos who have already had their bye.

Adelaide, North Melbourne, Port Adelaide and Gold Coast are the teams to be looking at. They are through the bye, they are available from here, and they give us one less headache to deal with over the next couple of weeks.

Flanders is injured and has to go. No point getting cute with that one. He has been a great servant, but it is time to shake hands, thank him for his service, and send him to the farm.

Grundy and Heeney are obvious targets, but both have the Round 15 bye. You can bring them in now if it suits your structure, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with waiting a few weeks and grabbing them after the bye - in fact, this is the play if you can manage it. Sometimes the best trade is the one you don’t burn early.

The rookie situation is not exactly overflowing with joy either.

MacDonald down back is there, but unless you desperately need the cash or the body on field, it probably makes sense to wait and see what the mid-season draft rookies look like. There should be a couple of options on each line soon enough, and with trades getting precious, job security matters more than ever.

So this week is less about being clever, and more about not doing something stupid.

Move Flanders on.

Target the post-bye premos.

Don’t force a rookie you don’t trust.

Support a great cause.

Good luck all.

Does Banfield survive this week? A few will be back for the Saints.

Need another 60 or 70 from Ison to keep the cash flowing. Another ~40 and his cash gen stall hard.
He hasn't looked below the grade ....my guess is they'll perservere with Banfield

Not unusual to be a bit shaky early career ...however I think he has the tools to be a good AFL player

Changes possibly?
NWM for Flanders
Ryan for Henry
Owens for Keeler

May hold a spot on players coming back from injury. No idea what their twos look like or others knocking on the door.

Well done Jiska - that's the best OP from you - and no posters were hurt in the process too :p

Asked in DPP thread, but might be less.frequented.

Miin games played for final batch of DPP additions?

Can Ison qualify for DPP on games threshold or no chance?

Edit: Would be 8 games, think, so he couldn't get there even if he plays all games.

Love a good scare campaign

Grundy as a POD in the run home.... yes please
I’d like him to play and lose a little bit of money so I can afford him.

Yep. So annoying Sydney play a late game. If he went 110 or under, I'd take LDU instead of Rowell. Oh well, never rated LDU anyway, too inconsistent for mine, but has been great this year.

Not sure we had the best SC teams having the first bye this year. Thoughts on who the must haves are from the four teams who have already had their bye?

Forwards
Petracca and Sheezel.
Anyone else?

Rucks
Xerri

Midfielders
Butters
LDU, Dawson, Anderson or Rowell as maybes?

Defenders
Are there any?
Milera, Worrell, Noble or Uwland maybe?

rocker_oz33 u blokes tanking? No other explanation, can't be leaving the machine gun at home when you're heading off to war

Who knows what CS is cooking up.

Mitchy still pretty much he's first year in the big time we cant afford to lose him or having him burnt out.
Lawson also important for the cats future .
Even tho he can spray them abit we need he's run .

Funny enough the defenders this year are not really lighting it up with big scores like we seen in the past .

Don't worry, mate, I'll pull 'em aside and have a word.

3/5
6/11
9/17

It was nice not having to worry about Rachele last week.

Can’t wait to see what he dishes up this week.

Let’s go Round 13 I’m ready to be hurt again.

He was pretty good in the croms game vs the cats on the cold night at the cattery ( froze me chol off ) earlier in the year.

Anyway the draw is cooked we play crows again.
Yet to play the tigers and the bombers GWS etc. saints too.
