Neale daniher is the most inspiring person going around

I appreciate his fight and everything he's doing for the cause, but wouldn't it be more appropriate for Essendon to play in this game?

Ir's time for the KB game to be between Melb and Ess. It's going to be weird when Neale passes that this game is a tribute to the great man but only the team he coached is represented.

The AFL need to re-fixture BF12 to be Ess v Melb and hopefully Neale is still with us in 12 months.

Quarter 1 we looked like we were going for it, but weren't clean enough ot pull stuff off. After that we just played safe down the line and they were both killing us in defensive aerial contests and at stoppage. Kudos to the defence.

Darcy Moore frustrates the hell out of me because one he clunks one or 2 intercept marks you think great he's turning the corner and is going to be his old self soon then he becomes this panicky spoil-happy mess that costs goals i'm sure he's as dissapointed as we are with his form but its just borderline unacceptable from your skipper now

Correct. Haysey looked like a boy out there at times and was flustered when in possession of the pill most of the time. Sullivan is just too short too impact aerial contests as a half forward and not quite quick enough or strong enough to play the Shoota role. Allan had a quiet one. Hoskin Elliot has to go back in. He was very good in the last term, and I must say the long sleeved jumper really suited him!

It's too late to change a decade long tradition.
Plus which, they make more money for charity leaving it as is.

It was a scrappy round overall. Second worst for goal accuracy and lowest scoring round since 1989 (think that's what I just saw on Fox).

They were just discussing on Fox that they played Melksham as a defensive forward on him like they did with Andrews etc. They can do this because he plays so deep. He was at his best when he played where Howe did further up the ground.

Don't think he's ever liked taggers.

It never looks great to stop a ball up and pay a free for holding, but you only need to do it once or twice early for players to change their approach. Umpires today decided to mostly ignore it till after half time.

This was never going to be an easy game,Melbourne was always going to be bringing their absolute best to the game.
Amazing pressure from both sides, I think it is a credit to both teams.
it's a great result for our boys.

Well a fairly lack lustre performance but sitting 11-2 I reckon we go in to the bye very happy and now look out for a dominant run to the finals. Melbourne brought decent pressure but once again that fact that pretty much all our players are smart and composed footballers right across the field stands out when comparing us most of our opposition. A scrappy game that could have slipped but when you have J. Daicos, Pendles, Sidey, Howe etc …….

I don’t think because it has been is a compelling reason for it staying that way.

Essendon are a big club in their own right, and they are the Daniher’s club. I am confident that the fight MND cause is established enough now to survive not being associated with us necessarily.

I’m more than happy for it to be ours and love how the whole community gets around it. But I don’t think it’s outrageous
