Interesting how inexperienced our team is VS the Lions compared to a similar age group:

Freo Ave Games: 66
Brisbane Ave Games: 75

Freo Ave Age: 23 yrs 164 days
Brisbane Ave Age: 23 yrs 116 days

We are missing 5 out of our 8 most experienced players as well!
(...although one of them is Schamwow)

We will have 13 players who have played less than 50 games.

Fyfe who is currently carrying the whole team on his shoulders, is our 25th most experienced player.

I think you're confusing us with Collingwood or Geelong .... we absolutely don't have that luxury and the coaching staff know it.

barlow missing ,to me would only be deflating if it's something bad.
the medical staff may have expected this soreness may occur and have taken a cautious approach. week off mick .

Really? I don't reckon our coaching group would be hitting any panic buttons when looking at the task this weekend.

Maybe I've over stated it, I don't think the coaching staff are panicking, and perhaps the relative lack of threat that are Bris may have made any borderline decision easier, but I still think if Barlow was fit enough he would be playing - or to put it another way, if they were looking to rest him with the 'general soreness' you were referring to I doubt he would have been named.

We don't really know, I'm just saying that I suspect Harves genuinly thought Barlow would be up for this game and he isn't (same with MZu if he proves to go the same way), the fact we're rushing players back in like SNOS and Hayden just adds weight to what I'm saying. You don't 'rest' somebody out of choice and bring in a suspect player short of match fitness to replace them do you?
