Horror couple of week with injury! I finished my team 2 weeks ago with four trades in hand i thought that would be more than enough to cover injury. Two week later.....
Out, Out and....Out:
Porp
Burton
Cornes

Still have my four trades, including the cash i have left over I have 1,294,200 to spend on three players at an avg of 431,400 per player.
Currently looking at:

PS: if you could help me out and pick what you think would be the best options? pick one of the cheep players (lucas/CAJohnson) then any two others. Cheers

Down back looking at - (need 1)

Drummond
Bock
Bradshaw
Chris A Johnson (cheap)

Up Foward looking at - (need 2)

Lucas (cheap)
Aka
Bock
Bradshaw
Murphy
Fev
BJ

murphy the obvious choice up foward imo.

bradshaw looks a decent option down back, bock as well.
drummond is a risky pick but it could come off. might be good to have decent back reserves though if you take the risk with him.

i would consider trading griffen before cotchin, although it can wait.

in the backline the clearest weakness is nicoski however that trade may be needed to get rid of cornes.

what is your main focus, overall position or league win?
Was contemplating trading Griffen about 6 or 7 weeks ago but instead traded Boak and Griffen has sort of been the X Factor, he doesnt need to get 120's every week but he is capable wheras Cotchin will probly get 60's-70's every week but havnt rlly thought about trading Griffen instead Cotch.
With the backline I was thinking of using a trade on Cornes and then when PBurgoyne comes back in I'll just run with one of Nicoski or Wilkes. In saying this, Nicoski has got 72 and 82 the past two weeks from memory taking into account his price and no real good backman its quite good.

Dropped 90 spots overall in the last 2 weeks so I figure I'm gonna go for it. This week:

Porps - O'Keefe
Cornes - Pratt

Not many have Pratt so I figure that's a good choice given he has scored over 100 the last 3 weeks. Gonna have to wait till Sydney name their team to make sure O'Keefe is playing, I think he will.

Baaah...whats the point

Picked a shit "supercoach" team to start with (actually picked nick maxwell sniff)...made too many sideways trades (got in brett thornton sniff)...

Next year..il be..older..wiser..

This year..sniff...2nd on my league...with 3 trades left...But looking at some of the competitors teams - kinda scared come finals...

Thinking Wellingham - Dalziell

Then use the money to upgrade Burton --> O keefe
Cotchin --> Dal Santo

And then pray for the best leaving team as

B: Johncock,Shaw,Bock,Osborne,Kenelly,Thornton,Bradshaw (Hansen,SDT)
M: Ablett,Harvey,Mitchell,Cross,Swan,DAL SANTO (Eddy,Dalziell)
R: Cox,Sandilands (Kruezer,Goldstien)
F: Franklin,Didak,Chapman,Fevola,Mooney,Rioli, O'KEEFE (Tippett,Valenti)

Hopefully O'Keefe isnt named this week so the price doesnt change and i can swap Dal boy for cotchin and next week finish up getting Okeefe for the Bird with the iron cast

Looks like Porps might be back this week so I may not need to trade him out after all.

Got chad cornes in the midfield, so im thinking of trading Ablett (could come back and bite me in the arse) for boomer harvey, and then cornes for nicky dal, or someone around that..

got 5 trades and 40 grand in the bank..

My team so far (1st year player)

With 4 trades left, what do you blokes think i should do? Im top 4 in one leage, 9th in one, and 7th in another - so i need to act soon so i don't get kicked out of some finals.

I was thinking a long this lines

This round:

1) Downgrade Armitage to Dalziell then upgrade Rioli to Franklin?

OR

2) Downgrade Wilkes to Atkinson and then upgrade Harley to P. Burgoyne/J. Macdonald?

What would you blokes be doing in my situation? Anything i haven't though of?

Interesting reading. I'm feeling OK with where my team is at right now, as I've got 9 trades and $261k in the bank left. I am aiming to come good at the tail-end of the season rather than top-score (played weeks early in the year 1 or 2 guys down).

This week I see several opportunities. I think all these guys look like people I'd want to buy:
ROK ($476k, sure to increase in the next fortnight, and is a gun)
Chaps ($510k, just a blue-chip SuperCoach player)
Coon-dog ($533k, has had several duds recently in a stellar year)
Dal ($497k is very cheap for this guy)
Bradd Dalziell ($94k, whoever he is, is guaranteed to make some money)

I've got Porpz sitting on the pine, so if he's selected this week, that's a trade "saved". The other guys that are scheduled to be cut are:
Brent Reilly ($300k, he's dead)
Daisy Thomas ($349k, has been a major disappointment)

Oh, and the other thing is I don't have Ablett. But he's not back this week anyway, so I'll work out a way to afford him later in the season for finals.

I scored 1970 last week which was mostly due to Pav being the skipper. My backline features H Shaw and Stiffy, who were awful, and my midfield has Judd and Stevens - not what you want when the Blues play Sydney.

Oh, and please add one vote to those who turned Palmer into Bartel for peanuts, and Tredrea into Franklin for the wrapper the peanut came in.

Damn it. Got to be disciplined and not do anything until the teams are named. It's so hard! I wanna trade now....

I'm happy Porpz is back, but I'm a little concerned about keeping him in. I really want to get ROK in the side too, given how cheap he is, added to the fact he's playing Brisbane at the SCG in round 22 (scored 149 against them at the Gabba). So I think I may go ahead with that trade.

Then I'll do Cornes to one of Fisher or Pratt.

Then I've just got to upgrade Houli, to one of Kirk, Ablett, Hodge or Cooney, depending on price (Kirk set to plummet in coming weeks, Ablett too).

Porps to Deledio or Murphy? As I said in main thread, don't trust his shoulder keeping up for the rest of the season, especially as Adelaide slowly drop out of contention. At least now, I can trade him for something different, won't be the same situation if he scores crap this week.

5 trades btw :)

Probably my backline, but having said that, Pav is a lot to turn down, and can cover for a defender. The players on my field who probably shouldn't be are Rioli, Reimers, NJBrown/Hansen/S Selwood (one of the last three). Wona and Ibbotson have earnt a place I think.

Bloody hell. What to do, what to do.

Need to get a playing emergency for Mitchell if he doesn't pull up (have Eddy playing for Ablett) so maybe go Geary >> Dalziell, then I could go Cornes (of the Chad variety) to say, Pratt?

Only 4 trades left, that'd leave me with 2.

BACK: D Milburn, N Bock, M Mattner, H Shaw, G Birchall, A McLeod, B Wilkes (L Hansen, C Cornes)
CENTRE: S Thompson, N Dal Santo, S Mitchell, K Cornes, R Griffen, R Eddy (G Ablett, J Geary)
RUCK: D Cox, T Simmonds (M Kreuzer, T West)
FORWARD: L Franklin, N Riewoldt, J Brown, J Porplyzia, B Johnson, D Thomas, S Valenti (K Tippett, B Ross)

Thanks.

I'd probably go Geary -> downgrade (probably double-d) and save the money for an upgrade when injury strikes in the finals (assuming you're not on the edge, in which case I'd do what you said)

You've got Chad covered pretty well.

It'd be the worst if you suffered three injuries during the finals, having a donut for the rest of the season, knowing that trading Chad was a bit unnecessary. Having said that, if you get to, say, the second week of the finals, and it's looking good injury-wise, there'd be nothing to stop you getting rid of Chad then: he won't lose any value.

Do I upgrade Reimers to Pavlich, or NJ Brown to Goddard/Fisher/Pratt/Brennan/Mattner/Gram?

Probably my backline, but having said that, Pav is a lot to turn down, and can cover for a defender. The players on my field who probably shouldn't be are Rioli, Reimers, NJBrown/Hansen/S Selwood (one of the last three). Wona and Ibbotson have earnt a place I think.
