Easily the match-of-the-round.
Will be interesting to see how the boys go about their footy. St Kilda, though weakened with their injuries, will be looking to notch up another win and will no doubt rise up on such an occasion. Such a depleted Saints side will present us with the best oppurtunity to beat them.
The one-two forward punch of Gehrig-Riewoldt will once again prove to be a huge test for Scarlett and Harley, and with Hamill most likely not returning after his hip surgery, this should no doubt prove a big relief for an underdone Mooney, who will be able to play as a floater around the grounds. Guerra and Milne will need to be minded once again, as either can break open a game and prove a real handfull for any club. Our defence will be slightly weakened with Sanderson most likely out with his knee injury, which will require one of DJ, Callan, Hunt, Woj or Enright (if selected) to stand up.
The midfield battle will be a real highlight, even though we'll be missing the likes of Kel, Tweak, and Ricco. Hayes, Dal Santo, and Ball loom the biggest problems in the Saint's engine room, two wildcards being Heath Black with his running game and Rob Harvey. I'd like to see DJ kept in the squad to help Ling tag one of their midfielders. If King can get first hands on the ball and feed our onballers, we'll be giving ourselves every chance to beat their much vaunted midfield.
Down in their backhalf, the Saints will be missing their first five choice tall defenders in Penny, Maguire, Hudghton, Koschitzke, and Schwarze. This is a huge bonus for us and could very well prove the deciding factor in whether we come away with the points. If Graham, and Kingsley can dominate in the air and kick a bag, which mind you is more than achievable, then we could be in this game with a huge chance. The rest of our forwards will need to be on their game as well; presenting hard, being there for the crumbs, and giving the side every chance of scoring everytime the ball enters the forward fifty through consistent application of pressure on the St Kilda defence. Aussie Jones will need to be minded, as will Brett Voss. Rebounding half back flankers like Jones have proven X-Factors in previous losses, and whoever lines up on him needs to be defensively on guard as well as giving him a handful to work with during the game.
