Going to be good game hope we get up. We have a good chance with some of their big men injured etc. Just need to play 4 hard quarter's of footy and cut out some of our errors. If Army is fit hopefully he comes in, I am going to this game so will post a game day thread.

i say no change........i think we have a good balance of height and speed around the park

ill give Harts another go considering that Adelaide should be short on tall backman and we could use Harts to drag someone like Bock or Rutten away from the play!!

this could be a game where the BigFooty gang watch the game together somewhere!

I've probably never said anything against Corazzo, or got on the kill Corazzo bandwagon...but, Corazzo out.

i would drop Simmo before Carrots

2 and a half quarters into yesterdays game, i was willing to spill blood to ensure Simmo gets dropped next week!

i am going to this game also. i still think Russell and Carrazo are not up to it but whether there is anyone to take their place i'm not sure. I hope Austin keeps his spot and i hope Hartlett gets another game however he needs to at least make some impact to get another game the week after. I hope Gibbs turns it on so all the crows fans can see what might have been :D.

going to be interesting to see whether we can score enough against their defence. right now adelaide's attack is atrocious and we look more dangerous than adelaide up forward.

bottom line, i wouldn't make any changes unless they were forced, but tell jordan russell to be cleaner with his hands.

must stop jason porplyzia, even when he's got one arm

I would bring Armfield into the side, with Steven Browne being the unlucky omission. My reason for this is that I simply think Armfield is a better matchup for Porplyzia by way of limiting his impact on the game, than Browne is.

Tough one this week...does anyone know how the injured players are going – are they 100% fit? Adelaide have a few smalls so if I was to make any changes I would drop Hartlett for Armfield! I know Rats' doesn’t like mentioning the word finals but we are a massive chance and I don’t think Hartlett is going to enhance our chances right now. If we lose then I would bring him back to prove his worth!

Still would like to see Hadley and Bower come back – whose places they take is a difficult choice. I am still undecided about Hoops – would love to see his foot skills now in a wining side but his endeavour has always been a problem!

Adelaide should be short on tall backman

Rutten, Bock, Stevens, Moran & Basset.

Five should be sufficient, surely? If not, how many would you want?

In fact, Adelaide is very likely to play one of these as a makeshift forward. That would mean they have a surplus, if anything.

I've already posted this to the Adelaide board, but here goes again.

As a Crows supporter living in Melbourne I went and had a look at the Blues and Dogs yesterday.

Entertaining game, but I thought the Dogs made the fatal mistake of allowing your key playmakers way too much latitude, and backed themselves to kick a winning score. In the end it came back and bit them on the derriere, as Judd, Stevens, Scotland,Gibbs etc. were more damaging with the ball than Cooney and his buddies.

The Bulldogs love to run forward of the ball to get cheap kicks when things are going well for them, and normally their disposal is precise enough for them to get away with it.

Yesterday though, their inability to play close and accountable cost them the game.

In the last 1/4 and a half, your guys set up the win through an ascendancy across half back which enabled your "money men" , Juddy and Stevens (as well as the highly underated Scotland) to break the lines, and deliver it on a platter to Fev, in an open forward line.

Carlton were impressive and are on the way to becoming a very good side. However, I don't believe the Crows will allow Carlton the same amount of freedom afforded them by the Dogs.

Adelaide are very good at playing "lock down" footy, and whilst its not effective against the very best sides in the comp, should be good enough to frustrate a younger (and less physically imposing) emerging side such as Carlton.

I expect Adelaide to frustrate Carlton into a loss, probably in a low scoring encounter, and most likely to be less than 30 points.

I think we're selling Carazzo short here. I have been one of his critics but yesterday he had more meaningful disposals than other weeks. He got a lot of ball on the wing going forward instead of in the back pocket. He set up a lot of our plays and I think he should play next week.

yup i agree with this. Carlton to get the first two goals and then Craig to panic and put 18 men in our forward line. Whether we are good enough to beat this strategy is yet to be decided.

I know everyone saying if someone should come in it would be Armfield.... BUT.. what about Pfeiffer??? the guy knows Adelaide, the ground and the motivation factor to beat your old team could be enough to choose him???

thats a good post

doesnt belong on BF :p

No changes imo, players returning from injury should have a week at least in the ants.

Browne and Austin have done enough, Hartlett should be persevered with. With our midfield rotations being pretty strong now, does anybody think AB will struggle to make it back into the side?

I agree that AB will struggle to get back in the side. Carazzo was damaging last night playing a Bentick type role and showed why he won the B&F last year - he is not a back pocket player. Having Browne/Armfield in the side to play BP releases Carrots to be the damaging player he was last year and again last night.

Austin will surely play out the year with the Blues, while I hope Hartlett gets at least a couple more games to prove his worth. Although he was quite disappointing last night, he showed what he is capable of last time we played Adelaide before getting injured.

Yep...I don't really enjoy the way we play footy at the moment. It's good enough for us to continue being a middle ranked side, but not good enough for us to become a top side. We have good honest young mid fielders (and some excellent old ones whose time is amost over) and obviously a solid defence. What we don't have though, is real class up forward or in the guts as you guys do.

I reckon our star is on the wane, and Cartlton's is in the ascendancy. I believe 2009 is when you'll begin to make dramatic improvements, and that you'll be top 4 with a chance at a genuine premiership tilt the year after.

I hope Neil Craig had a good look at Carlkton yesterday - because that's the way I'd like to see Adelaide play.
