Those 2 lapses in effort and focus cost us, otherwise ok. interesting to see how we go against a more evenly matched team. We are adapting to a new game plan and have a lot of kids playing.

Regardless of the result today we've already taken some massive strides this season in a few areas. Should get close to our 10 wins from last year if not eclipse it.

Boys played pretty well all day and a few lapses cost us dearly. Take your foot off against a side like this and they will punish you.

Zorko was BOG for mine (For the lions). Redden, Moloney, Green and Hanley were also good. Mayes' class up forward was important.

Really don't like Rich down back. He got 20 disposal but most of them under pressure and 12 handballs / 8 kicks. Really need him in space to use that lethal left foot and I don't think he has the speed/ evasiveness of a Hanley to get free and use it back there.

Merrett is becoming a huge problem in our backline... costs us 3-4 shots at goal a game from stupid rubbish he does week in week out.

We need to fix the backline up IMO. Harwood will hopefully be back and Golby can hopefully find some form.

Teams will get to know they will be up for a fight when they play us.....and thats all we can ask of our boys at this stage.

Results are a bonus to that effort.
