No changes to mention... just that GWS came from behind to beat an Adelaide side that made us look REAL BAD in the prackies. Worried AND concerned...

They got pretty smashed up doing it. I think it's a 60-40 chance their way, but if we can bring the quick game style from Q1 and Q4 yesterday then we will bring it up to them.

One of our biggest issues is Simpson isnt getting the best out of any of our players. Very tough to name a player on our list in career best form , or even close to it. You would think we would have some. The better teams dont necessarily have much better players than us, they just dont have 22 hangers on, terribly out of form. They may only have a 3 or 4 and easily replaced with seconds that want it more.

Thats probably because our players are either old or in their first couple of seasons. Not many in their peak years

Out: Oneill, Witho, one of jamison or williams, petch.
In: Culley, Hough, Edwards ( forward and rucking), Hewett

In: Hewett, Waterman, Petch, Yeo
Out: O'Neill, Witherden, Jamieson, Williams

**** it, I like the idea of playing Sheed in the ruck so we have an extra mid if we're just going to get smashed in the hitouts anyway. They'll call us the "West Coast Wee Men" and hail it as the tactical innovation of 2023 when we win the flag.

Arguably Sheed and Duggan should be in their peak years. Unfortunately both are average B grade players on a good day.

Feel we’ll win this.

Petch should come in. Hough too, we need some more run from the backline.

Honestly having thought about it just leave Jamieson in. We may as well use the whole time Naitanui isn’t available to trial both other rucks. But for the love of God give him more time on ball, otherwise what’s the point?

7 Outs, 7 ins.

Out -
2 Defenders
Witherden [Not AFL standard, hoped to be our Jetta replacement] Delist
Hurn - Lost Speed, Thankyou Bunga it's time to pass the baton.
2 Midfielders
Xon - Not AFL Standard, never going to be what we need. Maybe a trade to a Victorian Club for a pick.
Gaff - Too Slow, Kicks backwards, sideways almost 1st option for him everytime. Retire not worth anything on trade table. Be lucky if Gold Coast would bring him in.

Sub switch Petruccelle - He is cover for Long, Cripps & Ryan.

INS
2 Defenders_Half Backs
Bazzo, Hough - Our Future talent to burn.

3 -Midfielders -
Hewett - The Next Shuey type mid we need to replace Shuey.
Yeo - Our Best mid, minor calf he will pass a test late in week.

3 - Culley - Our Bontempelli - Midfield bull.
Can rotate with Yeo when he comes off.

Ruck
Nic Nat - Our Number 1.
A Defender can pinch hit in the back line.

Sub - Cover for Nic Nat
Barnett is his replacement and to help late in games. Nic can go down fwd and Barnett to Ruck.

2 - Rucks
Jamieson - Find a GYM. 3 years away from finding out what he has got.

Williams - SpudShed - Trade to Western Bulldogs with something for Timmy English.

Bazzo’s basically not had a preseason, Culley has a calf. Neither of them played in the WAFL scratchie.

Barnett played limited minutes, has had a very limited pre season altogether.

Simpson has pretty much ruled out Naitanui and Yeo for next week.

Wat.

Where does this random optimism come from? We've got the worst formline in the AFL and just lost to last year's wooden spoon team, missing their ruckman early.

The team we're up against is a younger fitter collection of high draft picks, that just flogged the team who pantsed us last week.

Can't say I'll be tipping Simpsons boiz again this year after losing a pineapple thinking we'd bizarrely snap back and be too good for North.

Outs
Xon might well have played his last game.

Shame Rotham isn't fit as he would provide a lot more than Jameson

Not seeing what Witherden brings to the table

Ins

Clarke and Hewitt. Can Waterman or Edwards ruck otherwise who fricken knows for the 3rd selection.

Well, half their starting midfield is out with concussion, for starters.

Out: O’Neil, Jameson, Witherden,
In : Culley, Hough, Hewett

Dunno who’ll backup ruck but no point having two wasted spots

Out: O'Neill and Chesser
In: SPS and Clark.

Looks like O'Neill was playing the HFF/Mid role. Did a couple of nice things but I think SPS is much better suited to that role.

Let Chesser get some touch in the WAFL for heaven's sake. Has barely played a game in 3 years. Clark will hopefully help with contested possession and clearances.

Well Laird had a quiet game, tagged.

Was Kelly tagged by North?

The Kelly, Shuey, XON and Sheed combo at centre bounces is unbalanced even with Ginbey.

Apart from our 1st gamer in Ginbey we lacked combative instinct and size.

Shuey isnt the future so put him on the half back line to lead. Rotate Kelly forward to help shake the tag.

We need to play 2 or 3 of Ginbey, Culley, Clark, West, Trew and L Edwards through the centre rotations and lets see who's got a future.
2 days ago you were arguing that the game wasn’t won or in the midfield.
Now after losing the only changes you are looking at are in the midfield.
Whatever!

Out: Chesser, Jamieson, Witherden, (Petruccelle)
In: SPS, Waterman, Hough, (Hewett)

Hurn Barrass Cole
Duggan McGovern Hunt
Gaff Kelly O'Neill
Jones Darling Cripps
Ryan Allen Waterman

Williams, Shuey, Ginbey

Sheed, SPS, Long, Hough

Sub: Hewett

Out: Witho, Xon.

In: Hough + Petch = pace.
(and/or Clark for Chesser -find form+fitness in WAFL)
(or Chesser stays to find his mojo at AFL speed)
