Round 2 captain

Cox seems a much better option with Brogan likely to miss. No way Lade is going to be able to run with him.

It's not like Leunberger could either though.

I'm swapping from Cox to Bartel. Will probably turn sour, but I'm confident of 120+ from Bartel.

Hope Ablett has an ok week then scores 4 points in Round 3 and is injured. Wouldn't that be great all? :);)

You raise an interesting point.

Cox - time on ground 78% dt score = 99
Leuenberger - time on ground 50% dt score = 60

Not the thread to defend players but just thought I would raise this. And just in case you thought I was defending because of my bias for the lions check out the review of the lions game on the match review thread from an eagles supporter at the game. Talks about Leuenberger out running Cox in the last quarter.

But im sure you will put that down to the difference in time on ground. Take it as you like. In terms of DT, more time on ground for Leuey would equate to more points.

Cox will still kill Lade however.

My answer is going to be the same every week, Ablett. He seems unstoppable and was on target for 140-150 for most of the game last week.

Kornes or Ablett for me.

Geelong will rack up huge numbers against Richmond and if that happens than Ablett will get over 100.

I went Kornes, let me down, regret not going Ablett. Now i get the feeling i choose Ablett this week and Kornes will have a blinder. I might stick with Kornes, hope he pulls his finger out though.

It's also a rarity for Deano to only take the one mark for the entire game, wont happen again for the year

Will probably go Ablett myself, but my smokie is Stanton. Expecting him to have a big year, and the back half of last year seems to show he is learning to handle a tag. Has ABC potential IMO, and with that much upside, i see little downside. Spends alot of time in the middle, pushes forward to kick goals and when essendon are struggling he drops back and picks up the cheap marks. He is a DTers dream!

But... with essendon still missing 4 of their best midfielders in McVeigh, Welsh, Prismall and Reimers, I reckon it's a gamble picking a midfielder who's effectively playing amongst the second grade midfield. Having said that, Essendon were missing their midfield against Port and he still scored well, so who knows!

ash - i did look at ottens funnily enough (though i dont have him). He has played them four times, and his scores have osciliated from 100 to 50 such that:

105ish
48ish
100ish
57ish
...due for another tonne?? ;)

That's over a large period of time though and ottens hasn't always been 100% fit, he's looking better than ever this year (except for his kicking at goal), I think recent form is more to go by imo. Ottens is averaging 98 over his last 7 senior games, although I will still probably go with Ablett or Bartel, maybe Selwood...

If u have Ablett - captain him.

Whoever considered Skipworth over Ablett, I know you need to take a few risks to get ahead in dreamteam but seriously, c'mon now.

Its amazing how people throw up smokeys such as Skipworth, Stanton ect. But at the end of the day your going to choose either Cox, Ablett or Bartel so why bother with the smokies, you dont have the balls anyway to do it.

Pavlich would be my definite captain this week if he was in my team but he isnt, anyone with him, may want to check his previous scores against essendon and if your wanting a 150 game he might be your man this week.

Richmond 1.0 (6) 2.7 (19) 5.9 (39) 9.11 (65) Geelong 10.2 (62) 20.6 (126) 29.9 (183) 35.12 (222)

I remember G.Abletts best on ground performance in that game

Chapman injured his hamstring in that game a few minutes after Q1. Still scored over 70 from memory! He's in red hot form at the moment, so that's my choice.

Beware the Crowley tag.

If you were gutsy enough to pick Chapman in your squad, surely you've got to make him skipper this week. I was just about to mention that game last year. Could score 150.

Having said that, I drafted Ablett for a reason. So its an easy choice for me. And I wasn't gutsy (stupid?) enough to pick Chapman.

Spot on
Came off partway through the second after booting 4 goals :D

And that's the reason I dont have Chappy in my team ;)
I have had him in the previous 2 years and it has hurt so this year I decided against him...

Now watch him play 22 games and tear it up averaging 100+ :o

I think you are wrong on Pav. I wouldnt captain him until he is back to spending the majority of time forward as you dont know how he will go in midfield. I avoided picking him for this reason as he is not a good midfielder now.

I second this. You'd be very brave to pick Pav over any of the ABC's or Cox...

after stuffing up choosing cox last week (all the evidence pointed to it) ive chosen to lock in ablett for the season and take his avg

I don't think Pav is such a good option. He didn't crack a ton until round 6 last year, and hasn't exactly set the world on fire so far this year. KP players are too risky for Captain anyway, especially in the early rounds.

It must be Bartel or Ablett if you have one of them. Otherwise, Cox, Swan...

Did it really though? Cox averages much less when Seaby is in the team. Seaby played, Cox didn't get a massive score.

I'd pick Pavlich if I knew he was playing up forward, and after last weeks game, I think he may move back in to the forward line and only in to the midfield sparingly.

Too much of a risk though this week.
