Captains Round 20 VC / Capt thread

I have zero chance of winning overall. At this point in time winning my cash league and beating my opponent is my only goal... I will continue to make Ablett my VC. I can understand that if you are a chance of winning the 50k or that you are not in a cash league, that the Ablett VC strategy is no where near as appealing, as it is for my situation.

Maximizing your score for the round also maximises your chance of beating your opponent. In other words, if the quality of your players playing before Ablett is far better than those playing after Ablett, it makes sense to use the VC before Ablett plays, does it not?

Scenario 1
You make SJ VC, he scores 150.. You decide to double SJ's score while your opponent has Ablett VC. Ablett then scores 180 and your opponent defeats you by 20 points.

Scenario 2
VC SJ scores 130, so you decide to keep Ablett as C.. Ablett get's injured in the 1st quarter and only scores 45. Your opponent who had VC Ablett and C Fyfe defeats you by 100 points.

I wouldn't want either of the above two things to happen to me and would much prefer to take a risk on Ablett's score after it has occurred, not before.

I reckon you're over complicating it,

Sure you can see who you are playing at what they are or aren't doing,

In the end, there's only 2 things you can control;

- who you give the VC
- who you give the C

The rest is up to lady luck,
