Nick and Andy analyse a magnificent half of football. In the only campaign that really matters the Tiger army will be voting with their feet in the first weekend of September. Can anything stop the juggernaut? Hopefully not an imploding Carlton team.

Another quality glass clink in this weeks show.

Because we've been doing the podcast a year longer than the club I feel qualified to give you advice as an old pro: drink your single malt without whisky rocks during recording as the sound of the rocks moving in the glass is picked up by the microphone ... :D

is anyone open to me emailing a podcast i made on garage band, and posting it online for me? i only want it for in here, so if i could email it to anyone, and they could post it online, and then p.m me the link?

there isn't any fancy clippings or highlights, no music, or any commentary yet, but its just me, and my thoughts.

EDIT: scratch that, i found a way to do it….

Enjoyed the podcast this week boys but how can you leave Vlaustin out when you're talking about the best tackling Tigers?! Even in his first year I would rate him as our best tackler. I have a new man crush.

He's showing a lot of potential, and I think could be elite, but he's maybe not yet fit enough to maintain the pressure all day as well as some others at the club

1 Reece Conca 4.00
1 Nathan Foley 4.00
3 Daniel Jackson 3.74
4 Brett Deledio 3.63
5 Shane Edwards 3.61
6 Trent Cotchin 3.56
7 Nick Vlastuin 3.21

But check this out, Flossy compares very favorably at the same age to Scott Selwood, who is absolutely elite now as a tackler.

Appreciate all the stats but wasn't what I was getting at really. I guess it's more about technique than numbers. He sticks tackles that other players simply don't and at important times. A good example was from the Hawthorn game at a crucial time that saved a certain, easy shot on goal. His technique is the best I've seen for some time at Richmond. Kid or no kid.

Hey guys how can we get a copy of the theme, the talking thru it by the likes of Benny is good but if I'm hearing it right it sounds like its got an extra beat thru it which really pumps it up!

He is, no doubt. It depends if you mean tackling as purely technique or overall round the ground defensive pressure over the course of a game.

But c'mon, you got tobe at least a bit excited with the Selwood comparison, tracking ahead defensively while being a far better kick.

Was thinking exactly the same thing... Can you please post the full 'remix' one of our listeners made up for you?
Love the podcasts, your stats and analysis set you apart.

I know you just got a new theme so this suggestion might be poorly timed. But I always thought that replaying a couple of commentaries from the weekends game would be a good way to start the show

Oh don't worry I'm excited. He's very close to unseating Cotch as my favourite player. That's pretty excited!

If I wasn't excited, I wouldn't have felt the need to pipe up about him!

And by the way I was talking purely technique. I don't recall seeing him miss a tackle. I'm not sure if you have stats on missed or broken tackles but I reckon his numbers would be low.

Should be fine. I will just have a chat to the guy who did it, Aaron Cook, who is a professional musician/tiger fan and just make sure it's ok.
