Just finished watching the replay, Reville was really good down back, definitely deserves to hold his spot against the Swans.

I don't think he has played a lot of defence in the VFL, as he gains confidence in the roll his disposal by foot will be a weapon and also take a bit of the heat off Zork's.

Yes, but Fages faith in what has gone before, what has meant we have played finals every year for years, means changes come slowly, with seemingly truculent reluctance, and so it means we lose the left field revelations that seem. to some . to be rather obvious.

Reville has the size and he is a bloody good kick but Fages will probably promote a specialist defender.

Even if Bruce gets the gig Payne, Froggy and Kiddy will go past him.

But wouldn't it be great if they didn't?

They've been fantastic and their forward line is formidable. They've kind of ticked off every box but just don't have the finals experience yet. They'll be an interesting watch.

Dunkley is still very underrated. Surprised he only got 59% of top-5 votes in this thread. His defensive game alone was excellent but he also had 31 disposals including 9 clearances.

I also think his hustle and selfless efforts have an intangible benefit on our other players. It’s quite motivating to see your teammate chase down an opponent for a big tackle and just working hard all the time.

Tbh if you were putting together an actual All-Australian team you would include him as the best two-way mid instead of the 5th or 6th best offensive minded mid they usually cram in.

That last quarter moment when Lachie picked up the ball clean and some how escaped away from Pendleburys grasp and handball to Will who handballed to Logan then handball to Zac to put the nail in the coffin was seriously sublime.

To be fair, he should have been paid 3-4 more marks where Maynard or Moore interfered before or during the contest…FFS one time he was downright punched in the head in a pseudo-spoil!

Washy can really find a gear when he needs to in key moments too. He's improving all the time.

Watching the replay; Zac Baileys pressure was excellent. The extra numbers around the ball was a huge win for us however our kicking inside 50 was very poor. We seem to always stuff it up when we get the ball out the back and are running full tilt. Hopefully something we can work on

The amount of times we fumble at exactly the wrong time is insane. We left 5 goals out there in the last quarter I reckon.

I rewatched the game today and read the game day thread while watching and honestly couldn’t believe the Hipoy hate.

Not saying I’ve never criticised him but I don’t understand what people are expecting or importantly if you were dropping him, not saying who for; Brandon Ryan?!?! Someone else. Someone please tell me.

Sure he had a couple of moments he’d like back but I reckon you could’ve said that about every player.

Anyway, I thought he was ok and was valuable in dragging his opponent out of the area that allowed Morris and Smith to flourish. Hippy is also going to be such a handful next year when he’s getting like the 3rd or 4th opponents best defender when OA, Logan and Smith / Draper are resting fwd.

I'm a big Hippy supporter. He does frustrate me at times, particularly his random kicking for goals but he is a team player who is worth is weight in gold.. no make that silver. The face book nuffies hate him cos most of them have no real idea about how footy should be played.

I think this is an important point when we consider the incident when Rayner took “advantage” in the last quarter.
Our key forwards were infringed multiple times in marking contests and weren’t paid free kicks.
You have to play to the whistle and if Cam didn’t hear it, then he did absolutely the right thing to play on.
