Don't mind Dermie. Knows his shit
Usually. But happier to snipe from the desk rather than roll up his sleeves and have a crack coaching. Losing relevance now.

Watching the replay. Is it just me or were they actually barracking for Essendon?

Watched the replay myself. We seriously need to upgrade on a few guys. The guys who are good at one thing, or another but severely lack enough in other areas to dismiss the original shortfalls.

Our foot skills were absolutely horrendous. Never in my 10 years of (one - eyed) supporting Essendon have I ever wanted to turn off the match as much as watching the replay. It was laughable.

Our severe lack of a hit up target has once again cost us big time. We all want Paddy Ambrose to be that man but I don't know if he can be that man.

Our defence is clearly our best asset. The area we have never flinched from. Now to get the rest of the jigsaw pieced together will be fun to watch.

Quick shout out to Trav Colyer, Dyson Heppel who played stellar second halves whilst our dolphins duo Michael Hibberd & Mark Baguley were clearly our best two on the night across the 4 quarters (sorry Hep, 10 possessions in the first hour doesn't wash completely with me. 28 in the second half rectifies some though).

Jason Winderlich, oh what a career he may have had should those horrendous things called injuries not takes over his body.

I was sure Ed was barracking for WC in the first half. Especially the first quarter every single 50/50 seemed to be a free to WC according to him and he sounded quite chuffed that we were getting spanked. On reflection though, when we started coming back I think they all pretty much jumped on the bandwagon. Campaigners.

Watching the replay I'm still shocked by the reaction to the umpiring. Don't think we were favoured at all.

Also, does anyone have the stats for how often the handball to Myers for a shot from 50+ after taking a mark actuallly works? Hardly ever seems to come off!

Yoda_ I reckon Ambrose isn't suited to that 2nd KPF role. Put Carlisle or Bellchambers there he gets the 3rd tall

One day it'll work and he'll end up kicking 3 or 4.

Eth pls.

Dribbles utter shit most of the time, apparently is also a mind reader as he always seems to know what players were thinking at any given moment. One of the most painful "communication specialists" to listen to.

Sorry, but when he's actually commenting on the game I listen and it makes sense. The best special comments person on TV IMO.

I can't stand Derm when he gets on a long winded rambling spiel about some shit, but he is good when he talks about the actual game and what is happening. Unfortunately, he doesn't do it anywhere near enough.

You want Derm to call it as he sees it, this is when he's at his best and where I can relate to what Eth is saying. When he tries to explain something it can often turn into a ramble, and when he tries to be funny it often falls flat. His short succinct comments generally hit the mark.

"Luke Hodge - the 21 year old, who turned 22 a few weeks ago"
(Dermott Brereton).

"That kick was absolutely unique, except for the one before it which was identical."
(Dermott Brereton).

"I would not say he (Chris Judd) is the best centreman in the AFL but there are none better."
(Dermott Brereton).

"Well, either side could win it, or it could be a draw."
(Dermott Brereton).

"Strangely, in slow motion replay, the ball seemed to hang in the air for even longer."
(Dermott Brereton).

Yep, Derm's comments are "special" alright ;)

That last one is just...

Just keep him away from Essendon or GWS.

Riccuito is clearly the best though.

A lot of then look very similar to quotes attributed to the bloke who used to call the F1. Derm dribbles a lot of shit but he's not that bad
