Logical changes. Not surprised they didn't replace McKenna. Not what I would've done but what we usually do

Lyons for Neale makes sense, but hate that we've gone Payne down back over Dizzy. Further to that, we've had non stop rain for days and a fair chance of rain tomorrow, yet we've gone Fort up forward (despite two tall forwards being our best setup last year). Fort is no key forward and realistically should spend more time in the ruck than forward.

Hope Payne dominates and Fort performs well. If they don't, it will backfire in a big way IMO.

Talls are very useful in the wet. It's the soft outside players like Will Hoskin Elliot that you don't want to play. Or the Daicos'

Not a fan of the changes at all.

Good talls* our talls apparently put soap on their hands when it rains...

I don’t mind the changes.
Its been pretty clear that Oscar needs some help. So Fort in to give him a bit more relief against their 2 ruck combo.
Zorko to go back, gives us 3 taller types and 3 smaller defensive types and Zorko for the ball use.
Berry is named back on the wing thank goodness.
Lyons out for Neale is also a thank goodness on the defensive end although it is not Neales strength.
The rest of the team basically stays the same, it’s all about defensive attitude now.

fagan doesn’t have it in him to drop key playerswho are shitting it up. Hasn’t shown it in the past and I doubt he will change his tune now. We had players coming to him to be begged to be dropped ffs.

If we lose against the Pies and the usuals spud it up again I just don’t see how he will drop Charlie or Berry or Rayner etc. they’ve been s**t all year. Tbh outside of Andrews I don’t think anyone has played any decent games albeit it’s only two games but massive warning signs. .
I am confused, didn’t you say a couple of posts back that you think we should tank and the season is over. Therefore, if true you would be happy keeping these players in when they are stinking it up, yes

It's not too bad a side.

Presume we have a plan for Hill and Elliot.

Feeling quite optimistic tbh. The players that have had a bake on here and I would imagine internally are all capable of being stung into action.

Yes ,it might be tough but really looking for us to dig in for the 4 quarters and if it's a bit wet you'd hope it'll be hard to cough up runs of goals like we have in the first 2 games.

There is not a lot we can do with the changes atm. Our list in general is slow and not the most agile.

It’s more a matter of making sure we play players in the right positions. Hopefully Berry to a midfield role to play on Pendles/ De Goey. Rayner with more of a forward presence.

Would love to see Robertson just freed up and played in and under.

Several players also have to stop the disappearing acts during games. Not sure if that’s a symptom of their work rate or being played in diff positions during games but it’s time for consistency across 4 qtrs from a lot more players.

Fort the 3rd tall for Gardiner from the starting 22 last week. More imagination needed on that choice.
Fort could be sub, that would be stranger but has happened before.
Neale for Lyons expected.
Payne for McKenna

Lohmann should have been dropped but in the side. Maybe sub.
Robertson should also have been dropped. Maybe sub.

Fagan putting faith in his underperforming fringe players.

They could still play Zorko in defense.

I don't know what to think here. They could pick any number of players to replace any number of players for whatever reason but if it's not a 4qtr effort we can't expect a different result.

The wet could see us play safe with Doedee. Zorko down back I fear his defensive lapses will outweigh his distribution advantages. So many players need big games and the coaches need to pull the right levers for a change.

Got a rotten feeling about this one, like the Pies will snap out of it, find their Mojo and be back full of run and attack while we're still stuck in the doldrums waiting for the wind of change. It could be a real touch up. I could get a bit more confident when I see the team, I hope so.

The most frustrating thing is that we should win, we've still got a team capable of winning, at home with a full crowd, Pies in a slump.

Lot of knees in there with Gardiner likely a bit sore with a knee and also Lohmann sore with some Bone bruising after the VFL on the weekend.
in light of the scans coming back clear, could Dizzy have had an injection at halftime against Freo?, obviously I do not know the details, not even sure you can play effectively with an injection in the knee, but we got exposed when Lester had to play KPD in that 3rd Q. Maybe still a little restrictive and why he is not named against Pies...

From what I saw of the VFL game we have some players who looked good in that match but not convinced they'd make any difference in Senior footy to what we have.

However if we stink it up again or maybe even lose then we're entitled to swing the axe . I reckon 3 or 4 are on notice.

Very surprised he was fit for selection from how things looked post match. I wouldn't be taking the risk with him and it looks like the docs might have agreed.

Agreed. Seems obvious to me we're going to have a winless season.

I will be going to tomorrow nights game without any expectations but I do expect that we will win a game this year.

Even under Leppa we still managed to jag a game or two!

geez sounds like Payne and Fort will be your whipping boys... IF we get beat.

I think we need 2 specialist rucks against Collingwood especially with Oscar being in such poor form. Surprised Lohmann is playing, has been very ordinary so far,Tunstill would be a better option imo, would give us more options in the midfield. Not quite sure where Lohmann can actually play apart from maybe as a small forward. Hope they aren’t thinking of dropping McCarthy.
