Wher is shocking lacks any penetration or leg drive.

Lukosious isn't a forwards arseh*le, force him to play down in the role were trying to Marshall to play, if he doesn't cut the mustard there he can play his contract out in the magoos.

Mead wasn't any good last year as a half forward mid hes certainly not a backmen either, stop giving him games.

Jhf needs a serious ****ing rocket got all the talent in the world but puts in **** all effort.

No idea how brodie got a gig over wines. A 45 percent fit wines is 3 times the player he is. If he was any slower he would be moving in reverse.

Mackinlay just isn't an afl footballer.

Positives
Whitlock continues to grow will be very good once he finds the gym if we even have one at Alberton.

Lai took the game on got caught a few times but we will live with that.

Butters does butters stuff but has no one to go with him. We must capitalise on everything he is worth if he's leaving.

Our midfield, forward line and backline are all bottom 4 standard.

Unlike Richmond, North and WCE we don’t have superstars coming through under 20 years of age. Whitlock is the only young bright spark we have. Berry just can’t get his game to a level where he competes at the required level. Two of the three list cloggers we took last year are exactly that. Brodie can’t play ahead of Lorenz and Wehr should never be picked ahead of Moraes.

We’ve got years and years of pain.
Lorenz looked bad yesterday

West Coast are playing pretty good football so no shame there.

I like the fight we showed in the 4th but yeah, at least half that team won't make it, and its better we finish bottom 5
4 goals up then don’t show jack for 3 quarters (at home) against a side who has won 2 games in their last 24, no shame there? **** me

Hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling from Carrs demeaner he is fine with finishing bottom.
Nah we need a complete reset.

Bottom 4 is where we need to be. Especialky this year. Go to the draft with our natural pick plus 2 or 3 first rounders from Butters trade and start a rebuild.

I am starting to think that Berry is like Moraes, Sinn and Lorenz as they all show promise but have not or cannot take that step from promising youngster to match winner. Josh Sinn has been injury plagued so maybe that has affected his progress. On refection that may be a bit unfair on Joe Berry as he hasn't played that many games.

I guess it gets back to the old chestnut of our failure to develop enough good young players or maybe the problem is we do not pick the right players in the Draft?

I agree that we might as well play the likes of Berry, Moraes and Lorenz and get some games into them.

No chance luko plus back.. he was an embarrassment down there.. u need courage to play this game..

Wehr is an sanfler.. that’s it.. I don’t care how good a team mate he is, he can’t play just panics when the ball gets near him

I do think the clean out 100% needs to extend to the recruitment team. They have had their chances. More than enough.

No club would have those 2 let alone the ridiculous exorbitant contracts they were given.

Our first pick will be Cochrane. History suggests it becomes a lottery after the first round in particular. If Butters does leave a top 5 compensation pick (if they are still a thing?) might be better than a trade for some scraps.
I think the AFL are talking about bringing in a top 8(?) pick lockout for compo picks. So the best compo we could possibly get for him would be pick 9.

Only club in the league that doesn’t get that at home.

The way everybody paused too.

“Play on! Touch! Play on!”

The sort of decision that would cause a riot at the suburban level.
The amount of legal marks we were called to play on from because the umpires reckoned the kick went less than 15m or where we were called to play on while standing still was just outrageous. When that started happening, you could see the players start to panic.

That kind of stuff does not get picked up in the stats but it has as much effect on the play as free kicks called and missed.

I don't want to shit on the guy as I was a little only watching in the background in the second and third quarters

But where was our two million dollars man?
He was focussing on brawling, instead of footballing

They are too connected to Carr so none of that will happen. Carr even wanted to keep Davies around.

it all goes back to fixing the board

We have a few too many injuries which exposes our very average depth. Even so, this was a game that we absolutely should have won and won well. The most dissapointing thing is I expected a bit of a transition period under Josh Carr, but the one thing I thought would be a non negotiable with him as coach would be effort and intensity. Haven’t seen that in any game at all so far. If he isn’t tearing strips off the group behind the scenes this week there is something very wrong.

This is the concern when you promote from within.

He was a core part of the inner sanctum for the ‘We Exist To Remain Friends’ era, so it would be weird for him to start cracking skulls and condemning the methods he was a big part of as 2IC (especially with BugalugsJr over his shoulder ready to spill his guts over the impending Sunday roast).

I have faith in Josh, and am under no illusions he has a long road ahead over the next 2-3 years, but we’re not enjoying any of the benefits of a new broom who has no pre-existing behaviours, loyalties, relationships and promises to consider.
