the kick ins were close to the most fustrating things to watch today

we kicked to the same kenny spot all ****ing day long, (55-60 out memebers wing) with the excpetion of that dog shit turn over inside 50 in the 4th

with the rules these days the AFL lets you basically get to 30 out and still we turned it over inside 50 with the game on the line.

Whoever signed off on that deal should be taken away never to be seen again.
You mean the contract for the social media tart, atkins, or both?

It was insane. With the game on the line, and needing to regain some momentum, asking just about the worst kick in the team who's on the cusp of being dropped to take kick-ins was a coaching disaster.

It felt like that before he kicked directly to West Coast and you could sense that coming. We knew it. West Coast knew it. Mead probably even knew it.

This is where onfield leadership matters.

A strong senior player needed to step up and take the ball out of his hands, regardless of any pre-ordained role or instruction.

It was reminiscent of Pittard in his Olive Oyl phase, left on an island to kick out in that loss to Gold Coast back in 2011.

Terrible skills. Whether thats fatigue from last weeks scorcher or playing another warmish game early on in the year who knows, or pressure from the opposition.

Look good when on the attack and solid skill execution, but turnovers are an easy goal to the opposition.

Beaten solidly around the contest in structure and personnel.

I know we will have enough points, but we will have to use the next available pick. If we have pick 2 and he gets bid on with pick 1, it’s gone. May as well finish below a possible bid and use the next available pick to get him.
You just need enough points it isn’t the next pick

“To match a bid, a club must give up draft picks that are of the equivalent value to the pick of the club that made the bid. Every pick in the draft is allocated a points value through the Draft Value Index (DVI), which you can see here. Under the current DVI, pick No.1 is worth 3000 points and it goes all the way down to pick 54, which is worth 14 points (every pick after that is worth nothing).”

Nov 2025, unless somethings changed since then

Carr has put players who have played enough footy on notice in his presser
Hopefully he told Luko to learn how to defend.

Luko shouldn't be in the team
Aliir stank again
Jones stank,
Dbj stank again,
Mead stank,
Brodie stank
Drew stank again

Esavas body is just a bag of piss

With the way the club has been going that is what we'd do. Except if you follow Cal Twomey's example of the rules applied to 2025 draft we wouldn't get the end of first round pick.
Why not? If we bid on a player and our first rounder then moves back a pick that’s what the afl is saying we would get.

Tough watch. Started on fire, fell apart and no one really showed that they wanted it till the last 5 minutes. Whitlock is a big positive, there not much else. Midfield completely out worked in the second half. Oh yeah, and Eleni isn't even a park football umpire. No excuse, but Connor, Bergman, Powell-Pepper, and Marshall is a lot of experience out of the side. I know he was available, but an underdone Wines because of a pissant suspension was also missed in the middle.

So if we have picks 3, 4 and 5, and he is is on at pick 2, are you saying you think picks 4 and 5 would be ok if they are the equivalent points and we can just use pick 3? Because that’s not how it has been applied so far. Teams have been able to trade down and get picks worth more points, but the afl are supposedly ruling that out now by saying you can only use 2 picks.

If we have to do a rebuild then so be it. Mitchell was in a similar space when he took over the Hawks. It took him 2 or 3 years then they spiked we can do the same but we need to draft well get our nga/ father sons secured and stop trading in has beens, convince Nas to join us and make sure josh has all the support he needs which I think he does. Also our chairman can get lost just admitt we need a bit of a rebuild you goose then leave. Hopefully in 3 years we can be back up there.

the longer we push a rebuild down the line because our chairman doesnt want it, the worse the pain will be
We are already at the "worse the pain will be"

In what world would we have 3, 4 and 5

I’m saying if we have pick 4 (from finishing bottom 4) and a bunch or pick that we get from butters say 9 and 11 (or whatever). If a bid came at 2 the club would use 9 and 11 and keep 4. It just has to equal the points, it’s not your next pick

Not sure why we loaded up on average one pace midfielders. The lack of pace was very obvious on the spread lol.

No way you play Brodie, Watkins, Drew in the middle all at once lmao. PLOD.

Get wines back in and we can be M E G A P L O D

Time for both Parker & Cripps to fall on their swords and apologise for two of the worst list calls in living memory.

Rat is both overweight and injury prone, while Luko could go down as the most deplorable one million dollar per season spineless jellyfish’s to ever play the game.
Add in Wehr and Brodie. What were we thinking?

It's late, but not too late.

Hitting this draft hard to get Dougie plus 3-4 more quality young players across rounds 1 and 2, even though that means losing Butters, plus doing what we need to get our academy/FS picks in 2027 looks like the best scenario.

If we don't find a way to get both quality and quantity this year, it's just treading water until Tasmania is established, and then we're stuck in the bottom 4 for years after that.
