Just curious as i've not seen him play yet. Quite a lot of people are calling for White to be raised from the rookie list. What has he shown so far to show that he's ready to step up yet?

Lot of experts on here Sub, they don't need exposed form, they leave stuff like evidence based decision making to actual Match Committees. Speculation, opinion, hype and rumor is the currency of the armchair expert, and a tad of wishful thinking. You gotta love em :D

Out: Armfield, Anderson

Armfield quick but perhaps not smart enough;

We could help continue the trend of blooding impressive mature aged rookies.

Take out Anderson, and slide White in there - Armfield remains in the 22 for the rest of the season, handled Sherman with supreme professionalism.
Army was nervous and rusty yet still did a lot right. He will get much better with some game time. Stick with him

His first kick was bad as expected but it got much better after that and he got caught without bouncing rather dubiously considering i remember yelling at the screen for Lions player doing exactly the same. Love watching Army play well, very entertaining and beneficial for the team ofcourse.

I think we might only change Anderson for White but Walker, Betts and Robbo are on watch aswell.

LOL.

God no.

We should leave Judd out for round four and keep playing Anderson for development purposes. ;)

Robinson will be dropped for Judd in round four if he doesn't fire.

What would cattle_prod write if we dropped Walker for Judd?

Betts is one of the first players picked every week. Yes he missed some easy goals last night, but only a week ago he was close to best on ground & he is our most experienced forward. He would have to have a month of poor games before he went under the microscope.

Pretty sure I said I'd rather Anderson out before Walker and Betts. Also quite sure it was you that legitimately wanted to keep Anderson in the side drawing a comparison to JR earlier in the week.

Your post is also wrapped in so much sarcasm I can't tell what you're actually trying to say. Flip-flop and sarcasm, TG....you be trollin'? :p

Never really go in against Essendon with any great confidence, however, losing two players that have historically hurt us in Lloyd and Lovett helps no end. No Hurley until round 4, and they have dropped Neagle and Reimers for this weeks game.

If we can play like we did against Brisbane, cut down the errors, and put scoreboard pressure on them, I think we have goalkicking options to really worry them. In the past, all the focus has been on Fevola, and Fletcher won't be able to get off his opponent and help out in the back half.

AJ to go to Watson, and Kreuzer/Warnock have to combat Hille/Ryder. Should be a tight game, although I see Carlton recording an 11 point win.

that's why i said "are on watch". They themselves would notice players like Hadley, Garlett, Grigg, Lucas and Davies all aiming for a spot. Wasn't calling for their heads ;)

Yeh I agree, I like Army in the side, he will get better... every now and then he pulls out a trick ..
I'm keen to see the Freo game, but I reckon we are in a really postion to beat them ... just looking at them last week..Geelong were just about into 2nd gear....as long as we convert the goals :-(

Essendon weren't that great last week, depsite pushing Geelong for 3 quarters. Geelong looked like an old classic car just being turned on for the first time in ages. They only got going in the last quarter.

The fact that Essendons two most dangerous forwards were Monfries and Zaharakis speaks volumes IMO.

Monfries always smashes us though. The little runt hates us and cannot wait to play us (fact). But you make a very good point HBF.

I cannot stand losing to Essendon any longer. One loss to them is bad enough, but 4 or 5? ugh. With Lloyd and Lucas gone it will come down to a huge battle of the midfield. Glad Lovett is no longer there to smash us.

Will be pretty keen to see who Jamo and Thornton match up on next Saturday. Gumbleton is so far away from being ready for AFL footy it's just not funny, and the Bombers have dropped Neagle, and Hurley is not available for selection. Perhaps Jamo goes to Gumbleton - not sure about Thornton. We have to get the Monfries match up right, as he has killed us in the past.

Whoosh! :)

Russell would be our first option.

If that fails, instruct Walker to play on Monfries and ragdoll him over the fence just for the hell of it.

He can't kick goals if he's dead.

Depending on how many tall forwards Essendon go in with, I wouldn't mind Thornton getting the job on Monfries. With Bowers injury, perhaps your boy Simon White may just be named as the other nominated rookie.

Some of your finest work TG, you are one of the select few that keep me coming back to this forum!

For what it's worth I think that we bring in Browne for Anderson, or Bower if he gets up. Ratts just has to back the boys in, no tagging half the team like we did last year...
