Rivers stopped Brown Nicely.

I might just go with Cross.

Last time I did the math it was the only week I deviated from ablett as captain... then he scores 254.
Pavlich is an excellent choice too.

Shaw- been Mr. Consistent this year, and people could rest assured if they put him captain they would get 100+, and thats happened every week bar one. Doesn't have the prettiest average against the Hawks, but he hasn't had some good averages against teams this year in which he has scored 120+ against. But at the same time, the Hawks restrict opposition backmen to only 1 score of 100+ a game this year.

Mitchell- I like how he's playing recently, and with a big average against Collingwood, helped with a 157 in 2006. Add to the fact that Collingwood let midfielders run free against them, including 7 100+ scores, scored by Carlton against them 3 weeks ago from the midfield alone

Franklin- Doesn't really have a good average against Collingwood, but give him the credit of his score of 56 against Collingwood last year was a week after he scored 157, and we all know that Buddy couldn't put 2 games together last year. His form only will help me put him captain.

Cornes- The Kane kind. 114 and 132 against Essendon last 2 games. Will most likely tag Stanton. I would take nothing less than 120 from Kane this week

Riewoldt- Ahhhh....playing Richmond who have shut down every key forward to come at them this year. The combination of Thursfield and Kelvin Moore?? have been able to stop anyone, including Budy last week. But his average against the Tigs is soooo good. Last year, 2 games- 147 and 151. 2006- 115 and 117. That gives an average of 132.5, soo tempting... Very tempted

Goddard- My smokie of the week. Doesn't have the best average, around 85, but I just like how hes playing and I reckon he's in for a huge score

Dal Santo- could be an upgrade for me this week, and if I do get him, his numbers against Richmond are good. Average of 120 in 6 games, with a high of 175 (2005) and a low of 65 (2006). Last year had an average of around 115

Brown- most people will stay away. I will consider him. When Brown is in form he destroys Geelong, but whens he's not he is really bad. Last year, last round against Geelong, no Egan, racked up 140, and the time before that when he was in form...he thrashed around Geelong for 164. And the question is, can Brown stay down for 3 weeks in a row? I don't think so:cool:

Pavlich- Looking to be the guy most people will pick. Looks like he is THE guy to pick as well. Last year average of 145 with scores of 144 and 146. Melbourne leak points as well

need advice i have been shocking at pick captains this year.
Some of the players i am thinking of putting captain are>
Black Vs Geelong
Sandilands Vs Melbourne
Judd Vs West Coast
Franklin Vs Collingwood

who should i pick?

Well, definately not Black versus Geelong UNLESS Cameron Ling doesnt pull up from his injury. Linga kills him more often than not. (With score of 67 and 39 last year its too risky IMO.)

I dont know about Sandilands, just seems like a big immobile P.O.S but in saying that i dont exactly go out of my way to watch Freo play.
Rucks vs. Melb
Round 1- Hawthorn - Taylor 71, Campbell 83.
Round 2 - Bulldogs - Hudson 55, Minson 37.
Round 3 - Geelong - Mark Blake 83.
Round 4 - North Melbourne - McIntosh 28.
Round 5 - Carlton - Cameron Cloke 72.
Round 6 - Brisbane - Charman 53, Berger 50.
So nothing extraordinary there from rucks vs Melb.

I daresay Juddy will get Stenglein (WC most accomplished tagger) however he aint that great, and Juddy vs. his old mob, theres just a feeling hes gunna have a big one. But Judd as captain any week is generally a safe bet.

Well as you saw last week Buddy is in fact human, i hate the bloke so im glad he failed. Coming up against Collingwoods defence should pose him too much of a problem, however you could imagine a Nick Maxwell dropping in front of him. Mick Malthouse is one of the smartest coaches around so will definately have something up his sleeve.

Hope this helps mate. If the dude you chooses fails, dont come hurt me :p

Thanks heaps helped a fair bit probable will stick with Judd again this week. :thumbsu:

Hey fella's.
I got these guys to choose from for captain;

Peter Burgoyne vs. Ess :thumbsu:
Lindsay Gilbee vs. Syd :thumbsd:
Dal Santo vs. Rich
Hodge vs. Coll :thumbsu:
Pav vs. Melb :thumbsu:
Reiwoldt vs. Rich
Chapman vs. Bris

Who you guys reckon i should choose?

Reiwoldt, Pav, and Dal Santo all average 120+ against the teams they are playing this week.
But which one carries less risk, i guess thats the choice to be made.

ive got to decide out of one of the four:

Jonathan Brown - due for big one, this could be it
Sam Mitchell - does play well against collingwood
Chris Judd - cant really have another quiet score in a row can he? and against his old club?
Matthew Richardson??- playing on the wing, scoring very well since the move and playing against saints

I'm going Pav because it's against the Dees and because he'll hopefully be pissed off after that poster last week.

I know that getting upset and playing well the next week isn't really part of Freo's makeup but the Dees are just so bad. he might decide to be a bully :)

I'm having difficulty picking between Ablett and Judd. But I'll give a reason for choosing each:

Judd: playing against his old team who are dreadfully bad and seem to lose one or two players every week. West Coast just don't have the depth in the midfield to stop him playing a great game.

Ablett: He's a gun. His teammates will try and look out for him a little more this week. But most importantly he is playing on the same ground, at the same time as when he got his massive score against Sydney in round 5.

I'm leaning towards Ablett because of the last point but it's a hard one this week.

Heart says Richo.

But Head and Balls both say Richo too.

I think im gonna go with Richo. :p

I have no clue what to do as my form on this has been really poor.

RD 1 NO Captain or EMG (Lockout)
RD 2 Dal Santo 91 ---- HAD Ablett 140
RD 3 DAl Santo 75 ---- HAD Cornes 176 and Ablett 115
RD 4 Shaw 120 Good Week
RD 5 Shaw 23 ----- Had Ablett 254
RD 6 Ablett 62 ----- Had shaw 129 and Hodge 143 HA HA HA

SO any help would be great.

Brian
