Limiting the trades keeps the element of strategy intact. It makes the game unique. However, three a week would be great and maybe upping it to 35 would allow for more flexibility and keep people's interest up. I kind of want to have fun trading players, not dread every one I execute. There should at least be some kind of emergency trades granted for injuries (like when I ran out of trades last year and got stuck with Selwood's donut for two/three weeks), the game needn't be that punishing.
People will still trade to a point where the risk of donuts is high enough. If you want to system guard against injuries then a variation of the EPL Fantasy system of getting one trade every week through to the last round would be good.

The more technical it gets with scoring, captain loopholes, bench loopholes, rolling lockouts, 3 bye week strategies, etc, and the more online research available that you have to take time to read and understand to have any chance of doing well, the less people will be interested.
I believe the Herald Sun has ruined its own game, all the articles they write and post has taken the ‘researched’ advantage out of it. It’s now as simple as reading their articles and your team will be ok. A bit of luck with a POD and you’ll be top 1000. People lose interest when all the effort you put in can be overshadowed by a colleague with no clue but a $25 a month subscription haha

Well I missed out on 209 points from playing the wrong rookies and captain.
Add Libbas 13 and all is not lost.

At least I can spend the week reminding you all that .3% of us have Hurn as a delicious tonne scoring POD and that none of you campaigners are one of them.

That's it though, cap it to two & you have clicks virtually all year long.

If it's unlimited trades to 30 though.....................

I counter that by saying if disaster strikes early and it does for a lot of us.....being so far behind the 8 ball will make you lose interest a lot faster and abandon your team earlier. Even if you don't have trades by say rnd 15 but your team is still pretty good you might still ride it out and see what happens.

I cant tell you how many times an extra trade per week if some weeks would have made a huge difference for me. That extra correctional trade before a price change for example, 2 is just far too low when the carnage hits.

Yeah it's not too bad mate.

Set up nicely.

In the end it's a marathon not a sprint! :moustache:
Agreed.
I'm just happy that my mid priced madness strategy (Challenge Accepted!) didnt crash and burn in week one and just about all my rookie picks hit paydirt.
Ive mapped this out and there's a big payoff if I can somehow make it work through to byes.

Good luck mate, will be following your team with interest.

Byes are always tricky and I never look forward to those.

Exactly my thoughts. The 2 trades is exactly that, punishing. Luck will always be a part of the game fair enough but right now if you have one really bad week you are fighting with one arm tied behind your back.

Last year I lost 3 premos in one of the earlier rounds and on top of that missed out of a rookie on the bubble, which just then snowballs a bit.

Didn't make it to 2400 but got in the top 5k.

Kelly on the bench sucks but can't win them all. All of my other rookie selections were on point but it's all a shit show round 1.

Screenshot taken before any changes.

Only change will be putting the E on Holman instead of Barry. No trades this week.

I'm very annoyed I forgot to trade out Cameron for English and I had until today to do it as well. Is it worth doing now? Will English continue to get games and make money?

Team for this week.

Doedee and Holman on the ground for Naughton and Brayshaw.

Traded out Ryan > English so I can have 2 correctional trades for next week.

$34,800 in the kitty.
