If he plays, I got cover, if he doesn't, he becomes a loophole option and I'll bring in Tippett or Lycett.

There just isn't a good DEF rookie this week though. I will have 296k leftover. Maybe I should go Smith mid and a premo back.

I had to get rid of Dea this week and, of course, grab Smith. Because of my structure and lack of D-rookies, I elected to upgrade to Pittard as a keeper. It leaves my mids light on, but no choice based on structure. Hoping a rookie emerges before I have to purge Tippa and Adams sitting down back.

It's not ideal going goetz to cox, but I think the peace of mind of having ruck cover will be beneficial. No way does cox deserve to be dropped on current form. Cox assuming he stays will also be useful during the bye rounds, and as you said if he gets dropped you always have the option to bring in a FWD/Ruck.

I'm wondering if, because I have Brown and DBJ on my DEF bench...I could trade out Davis and Parish to get in Smith and Hanners. So I get cash generation and scoring potential. I can Bench Weitering and sort him out next week.

This is all new to me, and ever time I go for a trade I can sub DPP guys to trade from other positions...but this move cancels that option out correct? Would you keep DPP and ungraded Lonergan for a defender or lose it and grab Dusty or Zorko?

Having a Fwd/Def DPP link is not essential. Most years there aren't any worthwhile D/F's to even bother with it. Grab the player you think will score the most points, regardless of position.

I'm not so sure about Goldy rumours being wrong though. He's really looked like he could use a rest the last few weeks. North are 6-0 and should have St Kilda's measure even without him. It's a long season and probably best to give hi a break if he needs one. I just checked the VFL results from last week and Daw didn't exactly set the house on fire. 16 hitouts and 0 goals and not in Weribee's best 6 players. (North's rookie ruck, Preuss got more hitouts- 21) Minson 33 hit outs for the opposition. No reason to have Daw in the 25 this week other than for Goldy cover. Make of that what you will.

Option B: L.McCarthy to M.Cox/Petracca
R.Davis to Marc Murphy.

The Daw inclusion at least gives some basis for a potential late out of Goldy, but as for the others, and these rumours in general they usually are just a load of crap.
