Re: Round 8 Trades

Do I keep Dan Wells? Probably hit his peak at 490K and there are some great options to replace him. Also considering throwing Carrazo in his place as this adds a bit of versatility with Hodge and Goddard in my backline. If I was to strike on Carrazo the time would be right now!

Wells is averaging 97. I bet there are more obvious flaws in your team.

wells to carrazo is not really ideal cos carrazo is still hot n cold mate...
put in a tad bit more n jump on a cross or watson or nds or hayes...proven...unless money is an issue ?

just read it again....hes averaging 97 man lol give him a break..this is daniel wells we are talking about...this is as ablett as he's ever got

Re: Round 8 Trades

well...... i ended up deciding against hoarding a stack of cash and went:
hall -> fyfe
trengove -> swan

now i have $285k and 12 trades to upgrade someone next week if the upcoming cash cows aren't any good.

Re: Round 8 Trades

.. and to elaborate the potential options for around the same price are no guarantee to outperform Wells, anyway.

Once again, any feedback on my team and what to do last page would be magnificent.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Iv got 12 with 167k

Forwardline reads Pavlich/Brown/Okeefe/Harvey/Fyfe/Gumble/HALL - pods n relton on bench

I am happy with my mids with nds as my lowest avging mid...pretty happy with the backs..

I just need some consistency up forward cos i cant stand halls 29 and 30's dont want another tippett to happen...

I am considering
Higgins (injury prone but consistent)
Didak (Collingwood, good form, gets the ball, cant handle a tag)
Grundy (Is it just a purple patch? Hes basicaly a great mark..like having brian lake in ur forwardline)
Gianciricusa (Is he getting these numbers because mids are injured ? Will he get enough midfield time or will be shifted up forward)

Any help guys ? Sit tight n wait take the price hit with bazza...or get one of these guys n not trade them again...

Gia has stepped his game up compared to his poor start to the season. He looks set to continue his top form. I would trade him to Gia for sure.

I just went Hunt to Webberley AND Waters to Goddard. Leaving me with Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Gilbee, Enright, Goodwin, Gram (Maguire, Webberley). Good Move? Bad Move? I'm hoping to downgrade Gumbleton or Duncan next week then going Martin to Murphy/NDS/Montagna, completeing my mid setup. I don't really want to get Watts or Playfair. Any other cheap rookie forwards to keep an eye out for? D.Hughes looks good but job security not so good. Hearing alot of talk on Gourdis from the Tigers, Lisle from Hawks and Markovic from the Doggies. But can't see them notching up many games compared to Watts/Playfair.

I agree with the comments of others on this one - if I had weels in the team there's no way I'd be trading him out at the moment. His b/e is only around 105 - so if he gets his average he'll hardly go down in price...

What do people think about bringing in C Cornes? Will he be good enough to be a keeper?

Re: Round 8 Trades

You know that feeling when you trade OUT: Hall; IN: Brown and then how that feeling get's a little weirder when you next go OUT: Mummy; IN: Cox......... :p

I say weirder because I only got mummy in last week but couldn't get cox any other way. Now my rucks are Sandi, Cox, Warnock & Grimley. Thus my plan is to watch and see how often Warnock gets a game and leave a trade each week incase a ruck goes down. Any Carlton (or other) supporters know much about Warnocks chances of getting more games this year?

I don't like it, myself. He's scored pretty well the last three rounds but he's only averaging ~85 and has been injury prone for the last few years.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Current squad:

Hodge Goddard Enright Shaw Kennely Glass Goose (Nason & Davis)
Ablett Judd Cooney Barlow Ladson Martin (Trengrove & Martin)
Sandilands Hille (Warnock & Lobbe)
Brown ROK Bazza Buddy Gumby Tippett Dangerfield (Medhurst & Pods)

Obvious problems this week are in bold.

Was planning on trading Ladson to Pavlich and then switching him with Dangerfield.

Then upgrading Bazza or Medhurst.

Still not sure which one to go with... I could also leave Dangerfield in the forward line and upgrade Ladson to a plain midfielder and Bazza to Pavlich.

Medhurst Im happy to carry for a couple more rounds.

360k in the bank what does everyone think?

I agree with you Mink, Wells shouldn't go down too much and I'm sure there are other trades you could make to the betterment of your side. I think Cornes could be a good option if Port keep winning a few here and there. Their style of play is open & attacking which should suit him. Also, given his two lowest scores came from playing Geelong & Brisbane (when Browny was on fire) I do seriously doubt it will be reflective of his future avg.

**I can see a few hundreds from him in the upcoming Melb, Rich, Hawks run too.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Hey guys.

I have 16 trades left, and $19,700 in the bank.

The forward line is the problem, in my opinion.

No comments yet, opinions appreciated.

Nason > Webberley
Dangerfield > Higgins?

Re: Round 8 Trades

I guess the issue for me is, I have Ballantyne, Hall, Tippett and Dangerfield all in the forward line. I'll have to upgrade at least some of them at some stage, and with Hall's hefty B/E it seems like a fair enough time to do so.

Tough to say. A lot of people have been persisting with the likes of Tippett and Dangerfield in the hope they pick up their average.

Dangerfield is back in this week, stick with him. Adelaide are finally on the board, maybe they will push on a bit and in turn his scores may get back to his first 2 weeks.

Tippet, not sold on. But last week was encouraging for Tippet owners, but then again, it was Richmond. Low B/E, if you've persisted this long with him, a few more weeks wouldn't hurt? Otherwise, i would probably have gotten rid a few weeks back if i had him in my initial team.

Hall will be up and down all season i'm guessing. Apparently will be rested soon enough, but i'm thinking he'll put out some decent scores in the coming weeks.

Ballantyne is IMO a great little F5 or 6 player. I have him, will keep him for a bit yet, low-ish B/E this week and no reason to trade out just yet.

Thanks for the feedback. It's a tough call having all 4, because I can just tell that whoever I trade will outperform the rest. I can see myself just sitting on my 16 trades and missing the points.

I'll be doing that next week if all goes well.

Absolutely!

Thanks for the feedback. I want to get Higgins in there somehow. He doesn't have a spectacularly low B/E so it can probably wait another week, I guess.

Re: Round 8 Trades

This week I went:

J. Trengove out. L. Hayes in.
B. Waters out. H. Shaw in.

14 trades left. Need to use 2 in a few weeks to make Dustin Martin into a gun, then hang tight. Gotta get back into that top 1000!

If you're keen on persisting, how about;

Bastinac > Stevenson
Nason > Webberly

That should free up a fair bit of cash to use for next week to upgrade a fwd or 2.

Re: Round 8 Trades

Just looked at my trade ideas again.

Hall > Pavlich

Ladson > Higgins then MPP Dangerfield.

Will leave me with 13 trades

Should I do both ?
Wait a little bit longer for Ladson > Goods
Or downgrade Ladson instead?

Please help!:)

True, thanks for that. Didn't even cross my mind, never been a fan of the double-downgrade. :thumbsu:

Well i'm no expert :D, but i guess it's food for thought.

Would give you a good chance to look over Dangerfield after 2 weeks out and to see if Tippet;s 87 was a fluke and if even Hall could correct the previous 2 weeks as well.

Also worth noting, i don't know what Stevenson and Webberley's security situations are like at their respective clubs. Would be worthwhile to ask on respective boards before jumping in. :thumbsu:
