Re: Round 10 - Trades

Would love some help on my team it currently looks like this

DEF: Hodge, goddard, Malceski, Enright, Shaw, Waters, Maguire
emg: Davis, Webberley

MID: Ablett, Barlow, Selwood, Cooney, Judd, Martin
emg: Stevenson, Shuey

RUC: Sandi, Hille
emg: Trengove, Warnock

FWD: Brown, Okeefe, Pods, Pavlich, Higgins, Maine, Franklin
emg: Gumby, Rockliff

313200 in the kitty, 11 trades left

So have been struggling to make the call on which option is best

Option 1
This week - Waters > Gilbee & Warnock > Skipper
Next Week - Gumby > Cheap Forward maybe TDL & Maine > Chapman
week after - Martin > Goodes

Option 2
This Week Maine - Chapman & Warnock > Skipper
Next Week - Gumby > Cheap Forward maybe TDL & Waters > Gilbee or (Gilbert/Fisher)
week After - Martin - Goodes

the question is chappy now or chappy later? or are there better options?

thanks guys

Re: Round 10 - Trades

I'm thinking of doing the unthinkable..

Bring Playfair in (solely for cashcow purposes)...LOL

But who do I get rid of:

Hitchcock, P.Davis or Rockliff.....

Playfair, IMO, is still an ordinary ordinary player (not a typo), at best, and not a best 22 player, but for cash cow purposes...

I'd get rid of... Rockliff. Just, over Davis. Hitchcock has money to make yet.

Either Rockliff or Davis is fine, it really depends on

a) Upside
b) Job Security

I believe Rocky has more upside, but Davis has more JS, and with Hitchy/Playfair on your team, you'll need some cover, just in case.

Thanks Thomas, I completely agree with you...

I need Hitchcock (last score of 99) and JS (Davis)....but problem is I see Rockliff starting on the field and Davis on the bench and last week Rockliff had a great first quarter and fell away in last 3 qtrs...

Naturally still not sure if Playfair is worth it...All I need is 3 more weeks of decent scores when Bradshaw comes back....

Got 10 trades left and need D7 (Franklin) and M6 (likely Ablett) upgrades

y r so many ppl picking playfair over watts?

It depends on the reason for the trade whether cashcow (Playfair) or job security (Watts)...For me if playfair gets to $270K...I'd be happy and all he needs is a decent game this week say 70...and he will likely reach $270K...

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Which combination would you guys rather?

Combination 1) Goodes and Medhurst (Gumby covering until he's back)

Combination 2) Mayne and Sylvia/LeCras (Gumby on the bench)

Cheers

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Tahdg Kennelly will be out for a while, yes? If so ill trade him out, dont have faith in my Nason/Webberly bench to cover.

Ill have $593,800 but would prefer to save some of that. Thinking one of Gilbert, Enright, Grundy or Fisher (low price but good player, might come back with good scores?)

Re: Round 10 - Trades

extra 40 k makes a massive diff. His price rises will be much bigger too.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

just completed 2 trades, wanted to get rid off warnock but then it left me with no other upgrade options so i went with
out nason, schmidt
in gilbee roberton (bench

team is now

goddard hodge enright malceski gilbert gilbee waters
ablett barlow cooney hayes pendlebry judd
leunberger trengove (warnock)--- last upgrades
brown rok pav boomer gia stevie j buddy

9 trades left, wat do people think of my team

Re: Round 10 - Trades

I'm upgrading to Goodes this week, but in order to get the cash, i need to either:
Downgrade Gumby to Watts
or
Downgrade Warnock to some 83,400 ruckman

Can't decide, cause i reckon that Gumby won't get dropped, and would be more likely to play later in the season, so would be more handy cover.

???

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Need some help with what I think is a tough decision if anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated.

B: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Gilbee, Enright, Carazzo, H.Shaw (Davis, Webberley)
M: Ablett, Judd, Swan, Montagna, Cooney, Barlow (Trengrove, Shuey)
R: Sandilands, Hille (Warnock, McCauley)
F: Pavlich, Brown, O'Keefe, S Johnson, Goodes, Podsially, Rockliff (Gumbleton, Hughes)

8 trades remaining, 16k in the bank.

I just want Chapman to complete the team but that of course means that with him and Brown in my forward line I need a reliable 8th forward.

I am trying to decide the best way to raise the cash while keeping Gumby as my 8th, or maybe having Watts as my 8th. (I like his JS, Rockliff and Hughes meh) Watts combined with Hughes as cover also has benefits.

Anyone like the idea of Gumby down to Watts and then wait for a downgrade target for Trengrove, hope that Shuey comes back also, and upgrading Rockliff to Chapman when the time is right? (2-4 weeks at a guess)

The money just from Trengrove won't get the job done and I really want cover.

The other option is really tight case wise but I could cash in Warnock instead of Gumby, have an additional ruck bench that may get games and hope the b/e gods are in my favour to get Chappy?

I have a very similar decision mate, I think that Gumby and Watts have the same reliability for different reasons, but keeping both and having a backup ruck that might keep getting games is really handy if you can have the cash either option.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Ok these are the two trades i'm thinking of doing from knowledge i've gleened off a few forums including this one

Dustin Martin> Jordan Gysberts

Tahig Kennely> Paul Duffield

I've heard nothing but good things about Jordan Gysberts so surely will be a good cash cow and will get enough games with the way bailey plays the kids.

I'm trading Martin over Bastinac as according to the Break evens Martin has to get just over 60 to break even yet Bastinac only needs around 39 so i think he has at least one more good price rise in him but i think Martin has hit close to his peak so time to cash in!

with the extra cash (plus the 27,500 i already have in the bank) i shall trade up from Kennelly to Duffield. I'm not even sure why i am going Duffield other than he was recommended by a guy who came 11th in DT last year on a recent podcast, and i figure he's gone down a bit in value so far so he's at a good price and will hopefully go up soon and maybe a bit of a left field choice in that people i play will either have Lake, Gilbert or Gilbee.

Anndd the other bonus for doing that trade is i will have $160,000 in the bank for either a forward or midfield upgrade in the future (would have 9 trades left after this so i'd probably wait a few weeks and sit on this team from this round)

Thoughts?

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Hey guys. Some interesting talk re:Watts v Playfair. From a swannies supporter perspective I don't think Playfair will remain in the side for too long. We have some good people to come back and there are other options I think we'd rather play in the foward line. Braddles is only out for a few weeks, not the rest of the season! And Jesse White will be back. McGlynn is just about to come back in. Pyke could also be a huge help foward now Mummy is back.... I just can't see how he can hold his spot for any more than a few weeks. This could be perfect from a cash generation perspective however I'm thinking Watts will also provide some cash, but more importantly provide a downgrade option I think will play out the rest of the season & give good cover (with the option of making me some money just in case I do need to trade him out later on).

This is the reasoning why I think I'm going:

OUT: Gumby; IN: Watts
OUT: Warnock (who knows when he'll get a game); IN: Skipper ($$$)

Then next week I'm def going:
OUT: Ball (or Martin?? Any thoughts??); IN: Montagna
OUT: Waters (or hunt?); IN: Def premium... Gilbee? Gilbert? Duffield?

Or am I one week too late for the defender upgrade? I guess I could go Heater Shaw instead??

Rucks are very weak. Apart from that not bad. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Current Team:
Backs: Hodge, Goddard, Enright, Gilbee, Eski, Waters, Maguire (Webberley, Sheppard)
Mids: Ablett, Bartel, Pendles, Barlow, Montagna, Martin (Bastinac, Banner)
Rucks: Sandi, Cox (Warnock, Trengove)
Fwds: Chappy, Brown, ROK, Pav, Higgins, Franklin, JPod (Fyfe, Rockcliff)
Cash: 11,200

Tossing up between:
1) Out Rockcliff, Martin (In Playfair, Goodes)

2) Out Waters, Martin (In Roberton/Davies, Boyd)

Or any other viable options
Cheers

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Wow I just realized warnick to skipper will give me enough coin, just, to upgrade bastinac to rok, leaving silvagni a week to wait on roberton/Heath and banking that roberton doesn't play this week! That will give me some coin to upgrade fyfe/tippet and hopefully some extra cover in the rucks!

Re: Round 10 - Trades

my fwd line is my weak link

pav, brown, pods, rioli, ziebell, fyfe, hitchcock (gumby, Duncan)

got 10 trades, and want get rid of ziebell or rioli and maybe downgrade duncan to watts and have 2 res likely to play most of the year

by downgrading duncan, can get chappy for either ziebell or rioli

otherwise
looking at buddy, gia, didak, ROK(very cheap), petrie which would be a handy MPP as I have Lobbe

BTW have goodes in mid field this week as I needed to replace trengove who is being rested.

thoughts on who to take and then I decide who to trade out?

Re: Round 10 - Trades

9 trades left and 67k, plenty of holes still, im in big trouble. I want to stop trading so i can do well in finals but i gotta get there 1st.

Im currently 2-4 so need to trade with injuries and upgrades. Midfield has a 0 at the moment but who do i trade? An injured Vince, Trengove who is out rested or a going no where Martin?

My backs are fairly weak with injuries to Kennelly and Gram, leaving me with Waters, Maguire and Webberley to do alot of the scoring.

My rucks are fine and Forwards whilst not great i wanna leave but have a struggling Brown and Davis and want to sell Gumby

Here is my team. Where do i start trading? How should i manage this side? Do i wait for the injured guys to come back or upgrade players like Waters, Gumby, Martin etc?

Backs: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Enright, Waters, Maguire, Webberley
Emg Kennelly, Gram

Mids: Ablett, Barlow, Cooney, J Selwood, Martin, Trengove (out)
Emg Vince, Stevenson

Rucks: Sandilands, Hille, Emg Warnock, Stanley

Forwards: Pavlich, Brown, O Keefe, Higgins, Goodes, Pods, Fyfe
Emg L Davis, Gumbleton

Help?

Look you're in a spot of bother here, but SC is basically like gambling, and at 2-4 what do you have to lose. Take some risks.

Here's what I'd do:

You can't carry four injured players. I'd suggest you mark down one from your backs and one from your mids to get downgraded. And one each from the backs and mids to be upgraded.

Then over the course of two weeks I'd do something like:

Vince>Gysberts

Martin>Dal Santo

Gram>Shaw

Kennelly>Gilbert

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Can't decide who to bring in out of Gilbee or Enright. I've noticed many who have Enright are looking to bring in Gilbee this week, whilst most others already have them both...

If you had to choose one, who would it be?

I think Gilbee has a higher ceiling and a lower floor...I've got both from the start.. Enright is ultra consistent... If I had a choice I'd pick the player with least players from their respective clubs.... so for me it'd be Gilbee as I have more Cats players.. Either way you can't really be wrong...

For me:

Rockliff --> A Good Sportsman (Playfair) ....

Probably a waste of a trade.....Come on Playfair, I would be happy with (90,60,30, then bye bye)... I'm not greedy, get to $250K

Also

Excluding: Barlow, Judd, Montagna, Hayes, Swan, [Ablett,NDS] - who would you prefer as the next midfielder?

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Well my backline stinks

Hodge, Goddard, Enright, Shaw, Waters, Goose, Schmidt (Webberley Nason)

Option 1: Trade Waters and Goose and get in 2 of Duffield/Fisher/Gilbert

Option 2: Trade Waters and get in Gilbee

Any thoughts on which way I should go? Cheers

Any thoughts lads?
