Recommitted Rowan Marshall [OOC 2027] - Requested Trade to Geelong, didn't get done

We finished 2nd on the ladder and made the Grand Final defeating pretty much every other team in the top 10 who had a legit ruckman. We even beat Brisbane using Blics and SDK 3 weeks earlier than the GF.
It's not the issue that caused Brisbane to beat us despite you wanting it desperately to be the reason.
We also finished 2nd for centre clearances over the year behind the dogs

Spite Geelong? We have no reason to trade him. A fact a lot of cats fans and afl media seem to be struggling to get their heads around.

If the club trades him for anything less than way overs, I'd be really disappointed. He's one of our best players... why would we trade him because it suits Geelong?

Excited to see him and TDK running around together next year.
I reckon St Kilda's right to keep Marshall as a required player has been acknowledged 40+ times by Geelong supporters over the past week. Once we get to 50+ times tomorrow you can stop pretending that hasn't been acknowledged.

we were pretty poor in the centre, better around the ground.

Carlton were good in the centre, needed more goals!!

Yeah, Marshal is the player but what picks do you want for him?

picks only? Probs future first and second.

even then we'd want to on trade one of them for a player so a 3 way if it's late in the day.

Ted Clohesy, done, sign the paperwork.
Clohesy, no cigar!

🥁

and with that I'm back to the Merrett thread, I hope Essendon hold their nerve.

Nice one.

I was responding to the point that supporters only want to keep Ro to spite Geelong.

Okay, well I and many others don't think St Kilda keeping Ro would be to spite Geelong, despite the ham fisted way Broski made their point.

This is why directly addressing a poster works better than saying "Geelong supporters can't get their head around x, y and z". Much like Broski doesn't represent every St Kilda supporters view.

I quoted the poster who said it.

I didn't say all cats fans.

Agree there was a number of factors why you lost but to say the ruck situation wasn’t one of them is straight up denial

In a perfect world Stewart wouldn't have been concussed and so Blicavs would have kept his ruck role from the QF/PF.

The Stewart loss itself was a massive factor for the defence too.

The Cats small defenders couldn't lock down Brisbane's smalls.

Dangerfield was cooked from the week before.

Cameron didn't show up and then broke his arm.

Holmes turned the ball over 30 times.

Smith and Atkins didn't have much influence around stoppages; there was nobody else available to help.

Our small forwards who connect midfield and attack were well held.

Geelong's pressure was poor.

Andrews obliterated Neale.

Brisbane's half backs dominated.

Fagan outcoached Scott.

There's 10 or 11 factors for Geelong losing the grand final. The ruck situation was only (sort of) one of them because the Stewart injury made Scott panic. We had an in form ruckman (Blicavs) and moved him elsewhere, then he was invisible.
