"Barring a HUGE late move!!" = "Barring a steak knives change that's being deliberately held off for the 7pm drama...."
If I didn't know any better I'd think all these highly paid player and list managers were totally incompetent at their jobs since almost nobody of note has been traded yet. Petracca, Curnow, Merrett, Simpkin, Oliver, Ah Chee and Marshall are amazingly all still 'in limbo'. Of course, not all of them are being traded (and maybe Marshall's one of those not being traded) but most of them will be. The whole trade period is completely staged by the AFL now for television though.

I could see that happening.

Do you know if that's been discussed by Geelong as an option?
Most Cats fans say we'd be happy with that, and it probably ends up being the deal.

A compromise between Pick 19 (us) and F1 (your) offers.

And I imagine this has been agreed but is being held over for the drama this evening.

Like what? Which trades in particular? (An out of contract Smith off an ACL for a first rounder was a touch unders at the time but worse in hindsight)

Interested to hear which trades you think Geelong were pricks on.
I thought you got Cameron for a very good deal it sounded like you paid a bit on paper but you really didn’t when looking at the time probably the best key forward in the comp your first rounders were later picks and and you got second round picks back is was unders for me , and you just tried to do the same thing Charlie

Correct. The clubs were notified last week by the AFL and told to hold off on deals until late Wednesday. Specifically, deals that were not finalised by Friday were to be held off.

This is stage managed to within an inch of its life. The AFL (as usual) is treating us all as idiots of the highest order.

This plays into radio and TV coverage that the AFL then uses when it negotiates broadcast rights. All about the dollars!

MackAttack doesn't go to work until 7pm deadline day. Give him time. 🛌
Sorry, should've said 7:21pm deadline day. Sleep well, MackAttack. 🛌
