Which somebody already pointed out is quite ironic. A bunch of old boys (and girls) playing the Old Boys. Anyway, it's already Wednesday (I think - can anyone confirm?) so get stuck into them. Well this was a game alright. A proper shootout. We couldn't quite match the straightness of the Als shooting unfortunately. I can't imagine there have been many instances of Roys kicking 21 goals and not winning but we have one right here.

We're at home to the Dragons next week before having a bye in the final round of the season (WTF?? Who the hell thought that was a good idea?). As it is we're outside the eight today but a win next week will get us back in. The reality is that it will take a miracle of many other results going our way for us to make finals now. So let's make sure we give these Dragons everything we've got and end the season by at least putting their fire out. I'm going to go out and stock us up on fire extinguishers this week so I asked Google what type I should get.

Since dragons are mythical creatures with magical fire, we need to consider some unique factors. Here's a breakdown of how to approach this, blending real-world fire safety with fantasy:

Understanding the "Dragon Fire"

• Heat Intensity: Dragon fire is likely far hotter than any conventional fire.
• Magical Properties: It might have magical properties that make it resistant to normal extinguishing methods.
• Fuel Source: Is it fueled by the dragon's breath, magic, or some internal substance? This will affect how to put it out.

Adapting Fire Extinguishers for Dragons

Barrels Award S39, Rounds 15, 16 & 17 or something​

Welcome to the Badgefree Barrels Award! Bundled out of finals without having to even lose any sets!

I have been tardy and was holding on to the award like a petulant child which is ironic because I really am one of those.

But eventually it became clear I needed to surface and give up these three awards.

Ok Lyscau:

In Round 15 v the OOBs and comfort, the Barrels votes went like this:

In Round 16 v the Royals and fate, the Votels Barrs went like this:

In round 17 v the Dragons and hope, the Wentel Likes barred this vote:
3rd place shared equally between Bradesmaen and DragoDelph

This was probably some game for the neutral. It was certainly some game for DERRINALPHIL (12 hitouts, 27 disposals, 5 tackles and 4 goals) and fitzroybowiedog (33 touches, 7 tackles, and 2 goals) who were in a two-way tie for BOG. Phar Ace took 23 touches and a goal, while royboy2 had 20 and 9 tackles. _Mike_ and TheGoatBaron kicked a couple each and really there were a lot of very good individual performances but we just got overrun. Again.

Ignoring that there was a season in our grasp and some bastard stole it from us, we made some good numbers over the season. For example:
DERRINALPHIL 3rd in the league in hitouts, 6th in frees against (dirty campaigner )
Phar Ace 4th in the league in kicks, 3rd in handballs, 2nd in overall disposals, 2nd in marks, 8th in frees against
SpecialBruce 1st in the league in kicks and disposals
royboy2 4th in the league in marks (special mention to fitzroybowiedog just outside the top 10 in 12th)
TheGoatBaron 7th in the league in goals, 5th in behinds

Now I know Mobbs doesn't like measuring performances with Dream Team points but nobody cares what Mobbs thinks, frankly. I think our individual stats are pretty damn good all in all.
