I saw them play in all sorts of weird places. One practice match against Richmond at Kyabram in 1994 comes to mind.

quite so, Reardo ... that was before my time, as I was still up the bush those days. i did come down to melb and see a Pies/Roys match at VP once, but I don't know whose home game it was. My entire family being pies, I was just going where they made me go.

You poor bugger!! I can't imagine growing up inside a Collingwood house. You should write a book reflecting on the trials you would no doubt of encountered growing up, you may find it therapeutic.
PS Sorry for missing training the other day, slight hammie strain. All good now though, bring on the Demons!!

well they weren't too annoying, two brothers-in-law are carlton fans so most argy bargy was directed in that direction. The match I saw was one where Barge Taylor kicked something like 10 goals!

If you told me years ago that I would see Fitzroy play at North Hobart Oval I would have laughed...............I was there for the game against Hawthorn..1991? (also still have the T-shirt).

Would love to see them play at Etihad........now!!:thumbsu:

Early 80's I remember going to a Praccy match in Wonthaggi. Can't remember who we played, can only remember that it was Billy Lokans first game.

Vaguely remember seeing us play Footscray up on the Murray I think it was in Cohuna.

good afternoon royboy2 *glares at watch* ... you came this *squeezes thumb and forefinger together* close to being dropped for tonight's match ... luckily 3 other blokes were even more absent than you were ... it makes me mad *puts some words between two asterisks*

anyways, cool bananas ... tshort training sesh today as the match is on soon and the teams are already selected ... just head on over to the relevant thread and give em some stick

I remember seeing Fitzroy play at Bulleen against Richmond in a Praccy Match in maybe 93?

Was a weird day...


Richmond flogged us by about 80 points.

My Favourite game was Vs Collingwood at Princess Park, in 92. Pert kicked a goal for Collingwood in the last minutes of the quarter to put them in front, then Roos booted one with seconds to go to seal it for the Roys...was a Great Day. Went to Northcote afterwards and Someone stole my Dim Sims I ordered....

That's my favorite too Mobbs. Some of Mickey Conlan's were sensational as well. I'd love to see the one where he headbutted St Kilda's Trevor Barker in the chest, then snapped the goal over his shoulder from the boundary line again.

Oddly enough I'd proberbly have to say theState of Origin game where Teddy did the farewell lap. Brad Boyd kicked one which from memory (I was only a young lad) was maybe 45 out but just the feeling of having a packed G all roaring for our boy was awsome!

Sadly not that many on field highlights from roys games I went to.

Micky Conlan '86 Elimination Final at VFL Park v Essendon. Mick hardly touched the footy all day but kicked the one that won the match.:thumbsu:

Good idea. It was getting a bit exhausting, but I suppose pre-season training is often like that.

Yeah, don't know how to fix that, I'm not what you would call "gifted" when it comes to technology. However what I lack in know how I make up for with enthusiasm.:D

Bernie kicking a goal from a tight angle to the scoreboard end at the Junction - against a howling northerly. Sealed a narrow win over the Cats and put us outright top for the first time in a squillion years. 'Bout round 7, 1983.

Bernie Qunilan went off at quarter time with his recurring achilies injury.

7 Points down at 3 quarter time, Ossie went berserk in the last quarter (may have kicked all 5 in the last) and we end up winning by 45 points.

One sticks in the memory. Two Essendon players contest a mark in the goal square and spoil each other. Ossie mops up the crumbs and slots another.

Jimmy the Wynds first game wearing number 58.
Phillip Knight 1 brownlow vote.
