Where did I ever mention Port Adelaide:confused::confused::confused:

Can you actually read:confused::confused:

Nice try at deflecting the argument tho:thumbsu:

Fact remains that you took the colours from South Australia. As your own website says.
optimax mentioned Port Adelaide and you responded to his post regarding the club colours. If you don't know anything about the Port Adelaide/Collingwood guernsey controversy then don't bother posting.

Oh, and by the way, the Collingwood website is known for providing inaccurate bits of information.

sorry mate VFA history isnt taken into account otherwise clubs like Brittania would be included and seeing as you started in the VFL in 1925 with a nice royal blue jumper with white V we were both established and wearing stripes before you

Got to pull you up there Opti. Brittania wasn't in the VFA (they were a junior club). VFA history does count to an extent as we were established 1892 (before VFL). NM did start wearing vert stripes around 1884 but changed a lot (they also ripped off a design similar to Brittania's).

Anyway.....
I don't think anyone can lay claim to establishing vetical stripes as a bloody footy fashion trend. If you want to continue drawing long bows you could say we stole our design from Notts County (the oldest or 2nd oldest sporting club in the world I think). As far as I can tell we are the 2nd oldest black and white striped club in the world (Newcastle United and Juventus both had different strips and changed to black and white after Collingwood, Juventus actually copied Notts Co).

And so what if we were inspired by the South Australia colony rep team's colours?
